Stoy wins DCRST feature at CTS as "Final 4" kicks off

STOY WINS AT CTS AS FINAL 4 KICKS OFF

 

Ryan Stoy (20) picked up his first Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas main event win at A-Line Auto Parts Night at the Races Saturday night. Stoy out dueled the 19 car field in the feature race that produced some sizzling speeds as 17 of the cars in the field posted lap times within less than half a second of one another. Jerry Young (18) led most of the main event but a late race spin took him from
contention for the race win.

Butch Havelka (27), Arden Vikre (72), Dwain Groff (14) and Chase Havely (29) rounded out the top 5.

Heat race winners at CTS were Michael Goulais (40), J. Young, and Rusty Young (88).

 

Russell Rust (31) and Jim Kritikos (5) were involved in a grinding crash in one of the heats with both cars sustaining heavy damage however both drivers checked out fine.

With race one of the Final 4 in the books the point stadings remain close as Havelka, D Groff, Vikre and Havely all posted top 5 finishes at Kyle and full season points, race results and race footage is at www.DCRST.com.

 

Race 15 of the season and 2 of the Final 4 is the wild card event at South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, TX on September 27th. The dirt track throws a new challenge at The Wild Side Tour as a true test for the cars and drivers that run most of the schedule on asphalt tracks. Billy Groff (30) and Havely have notched wins at STS in the two prior trips this season.
