RUSTY YOUNG DOUBLES HMP/CTS UP FOR DCRST

Rusty Young (88) took care of business Saturday evening at Houston Motorsports Park winning the main event and heat race in Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas race 11 action. After a true photo finish win in the heat race Young took command of the feature race holding off the 16 car field to pick up the win. As it has become the norm the action was furious on the race track with the cars going up to 3 wide at times during the event and testing the concrete corners to the fullest. The top contenders
averaged in the 16.5 second lap time range.

Arden Vikre (72) back from vacation picked up the runner up spot while Dwain Groff (14), Rodney Rodriguez (28) and Chase Havely (31/29) rounded out the top 5.

Havely currently in the top 5 of the season standings suffered a crash in Friday practice that resulted in the primary #29 car being destroyed after contact with the wall. The team traveled home and returned with their back up car for Saturday's race.

Rodriguez picked up the other heat race win.

After the 11th event the point battle continues tight as top contenders Billy Groff (30) and Butch Havelka (27) suffered mechanical issues. Groff was not able to make the heat or main while Havelka picked up a second place in the heat race before trailing arm issues in the main.
