Havely Down n Dirty as DCRST rolls into Houston

San Marcos, TX (July 29, 2014) Chase Havely survived a wild night at South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, Texas to notch his first dirt main event win July 26th. Havely made it a clean sweep taking a heat race win as well.

In the main 14 year-old Pipe Creek resident took early command of the race and held off many of the top drivers in the series. Just past the halfway point Havely avoided disaster as he spun after a caution and made hard contact with the retaining wall in turn 3. As the caution had been called prior, Havely was able to resume and retained the top spot and led the balance of the race to pick up main event win number two on the 2014 season.

It was a rough night for a couple of season championship contenders as Dwain Groff (14/48) suffered a broken axle and Kevin Hubbard (3) had mechanical issues and made hard contact with the wall on the front straight wall resulting in serious damage. Hubbard did pick up a race win earlier in the evening.

Rounding out the top 5 were Hayden Becker (17) back in action and looking fast, Chris Silvas Jr (86), Billy Groff (30) and Chris Silvas Sr (85).

Points battle tightens after the 10th of 17 events and can be found at www.DCRST.com as well as all series information including videos of past event and the full season schedule.

Next up for the traveling road show it is race number eleven and the first series appearance this year at the 3/8 mile “Palace of Power” Houston Motorsports Park. The quick turnaround back to asphalt will make the teams bring out the best to transition back. On top of that the concrete corners add a little more to the excitement and intrigue to what has been a wide open 2014 season for the Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas.

Discounted $5.00 tickets are available at all Houston area Fiesta Super Market locations and HMP offers discounted hot dogs and beverages at each event. This will be one to put on your racing calendar. As the points battle has tightened expect nothing but action from the cars and stars who give the phrase “Taking a Ride on the Wild Side” a brand new definition. HMP will be race number two in a 3 race trio in consecutive weeks as August 9th brings a trip back to Central Texas Speedway working towards the “Final 4” to determine the championship which will feature a true wild card back on the dirt at STS.

Visit www.houstonmotorsportspark.com for Fiesta's Summer Sizzler event information.

Once again DCRST wishes to thank Central Texas Speedway, Corpus Christi Speedway, South Texas Speedway and Houston Motorsports Park for featuring the series as part of their race dates this season.
