rebelracewriter
SPENCER GALLAGHER POSTS 13TH-PLACE FINISH AT TOLEDO TOLEDO, Ohio (May 19, 2014) Over the past two seasons, Toledo (Ohio) Speedway has not been kind to Spencer Gallagher and the No. 23 Allegiant Travel team. Looking to break the cycle and finish the Menards 200 for the first time in his career, Gallagher ran inside the top-10 for 150 laps and finished in the 13th position, after suffering a flat tire with less than 10 laps remaining. Ill tell you what, this Allegiant Travel team never gives up, said Gallagher. Toledo hasnt been very nice to us over the past few years and we wanted to leave here with a solid day and the car in one piece. Even though we blew a tire with only a handful of laps left, the No. 23 Chevrolet doesnt have any damage and we finished the race. Today could have been better, but it could have been worse. Im definitely looking forward to road course racing in a couple weeks. Gallagher started the 200-lap event from the 11th position and had moved into the top-10 as the first caution was displayed on lap 52. The 24-year-old reported to Crew Chief Ryan Pickle London that the Allegiant Travel Chevrolet was tight coming off the corner, but it handled better over a long green flag run. London called for right-side tires, fuel, air pressure and track bar adjustments. A quick stop by the GMS Racing pit crew propelled Gallagher into seventh-place on the lap 59 restart. Running as high as the fifth position, Gallagher radioed his Chevrolet was really good at the halfway point on lap 100. A handful of laps later, another caution slowed the pace and London brought his driver back down pit road for four tires, fuel, and adjustments. Restarting on lap 112 from the seventh position, Gallagher continued to compete inside the top-10 until the right front tire lost air on lap 194, forcing the Allegiant Travel Impala to visit pit road for an unscheduled stop. The crew changed tires and Gallagher finished in 13th-place. The next event on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule is the Great Railing 150 at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The race starts at 1:00PM ET on Sunday, June 1, 2014, with live timing and scoring on ARCAracing.com.
