We will be having three nights available for you to have some fun. Friday the 23rd we will have a practice from 6 to 10pm. Saturday we will have a regular show with all classes. Sunday the 25th we are having the Street Stock Memorial Shoot out. We will have a special Memorial day ceremony. We are not running Limited Late Models on Sunday. All races are point races.

Everyone is welcome to camp out all weekend. We will have the Bar open every night and might even cook some good food for you.

Is there a reason that all classes r racing sunday but the limited late models when the sport compact class is the smallest class. Nothing against sport compacts but many fans always talk about the limited late models putting on a good show. Im not trying to bash ur decision ken but I dont understsnd y the LLMs arent running both nights. Fans love the class and our track have alot drivers from out of town to drive up and back who could just stay in cc and race both nights. Being the street stock shootout keeping the LLMs running because its a fast fun class and have sport compact just run saturday. Maybe its just me that feels that way but I know many fans love the llms. With atleast half the class being out of towners and supporting our local track im sure they would enjoy a 2 day show. Not trying to step on ur toes but just state how we feel.

Arob its nice to hear from a fans perspective which class is preferable to watch versus sometime thinking I prefer the LLMs because we own one. I think the LLMs put on a very good show and alot of people enjoy it no there isnt a field of 20 plus car but it atleast has for than 4. I have nothing against any classes including compact class but fans come to see a show good show not feature with 4 or so cars. Exspecially a 2 day show should be the big and fast classes. I say that as how I saw it when I watched as a fan. I have respect for all drivers and crew in all classes I understand first hand how much work and time and commitment it takes being an owner of an emod and llm. So I hope ken will reconsider LLMs not sunday.

I for one would rather have LLM's too. I know a certain someone pushes Sports Compacts but like you said it hasn't grown in two years and I doubt it will ever grow.

Perhap if the LLM was a cheap class than they could but considering a llm set of tires and fuel/alcohol cost more money than to spend building a compact car and the llm class has more than 4 cars every right night unlike the compacts anyone could understand the purse difference. compacts are usually the starter cars knock some windows out put in a roll cage. Try building one and ull understand the payout difference. I simply stated mybopinon and apparently others seem to rather see the LLMs over compacts. With a bigger car count and fast cars and good action r what the fans like and isnt that y we r out there to go race have fun and give the fans a good show. If I remember correctly thumper werent u making comments on here talking about the other classes having alot of money so it would b nice if they would build compact cars and find drivers. Others classes have lots of money was ur words. So y would a LLM need to run for compact purse when the cost of building between the 2 can be 5 grand on way up. I speak my opinon and it was a opinon made fot the track owner and director. Go read the sport compact post and than u can respond to my post where I was actually speaking to U about the classes.

Thank you racingwife.... for making my point so clear. And the track owners point as well. With the Street Stock Shootout everybody who is going to be at the track this weekend will be there regardless of who races. Its a 3 day party that some racing will break out.Why shell out more money than is needed?I hear how racing for money is not the point but indeed it is afterall isnt it?My class is off on the next big show but we would galdly take your place for your purse if given the chance. We all need to work together and help our track. An opening for your class could possibly could have been petetioned for if not for the need for money. On a good day our guys race for crumbs so we are a moot point.Fighting between classes only works for our president.

An intresting point you brought up was the cost of racing. This is a true fact.Becaust I choose a sport compact does not mean I dont understand how to build, race, drive and mechanic any class of cars.In my backyard sits a full blown modified, complete and ready to race if not for the hole in the block.I spent over 20 grand on that campaine because like many,a bigger, noisier and faster car meant more prestige and fun.It sits there as a reminder to me that you dont need money to enjoy the sport. From the MSD ignition to the 3 disc racing clutch to the 32 gal alcohol fuel tank etc every time I have the urge to do it again with a limited modified or even a pure stock all I have to do is look at it and remember the rest of the story. To me racing is the same as gambeling, dont bet what you cant afford to loose. If my compact disappeared,it already has paid for itself. It allows me to be a part of what I really enjoy without the cost of money and time my modified did.

My goal is to share what I learned about racing. Its hard to recrute new intrest when theres always people willing to degrade you for their benifit.Working together is what made STS a dominate figure in the racing world.Theres room for all of us.Now you know why my quote was "Im not intrested to hear from the noisy V8 guys",I was not refering to the cars.

I thought the money saved by not having ASCS was going to the locals so there should be money for two nights of the LLM's.STS is to be commended for being open to all classes. But the fact is sports compacts is going nowhere there.I don't think they have hit 10 cars since they have been there.E-Mods on the other hand have grown from 5 cars to 12 to 14 during the same period of time. And they lost at least 4 from last year.I liked the minis at CCS,Texas Thunder and Texana. Not so much at STS.To be honest I like the kart racing better.

We had 17 cars in the pits for the Shootout just because we got a purse and everyone else was off.6 venues and 5 tracks involved. We raced the first race this year for free.We are doing what we can to help the track, not telling them to spend more money. Why do you villianise us?We had nothing to do with any decisions. This is our home track even though 3 of us travel 130 miles to get there. We have cars, just cant keep them all running at the same time.

Think what's being touched on is the idea of 4 cylinders being the future of racing. Obviously, it's not. Even on bad nights, LLM outdraws Sport Compacts and 1/2-3/4 of that class hauls 150 miles to come race too, yet they still show up. Not fair for the ones that always show up in Sport Compact, like it's not fair for the few Street stocks that showed up at CC but will any class of 5 survive, regardless of cost??? I know they share your frustration knowing there's cars/drivers sitting idle but I will wager this, there's been more cars built or new cars recruited in any class other than compacts. One night of double digit car counts in what 4 years vs LLM and Emods consistently pulling 10-15...

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The decision not to run LLM's is a fair decision in my eyes. This weekend the LLMs are off, later in the year the Sport compacts are off. Its just rotating classes to keep the show over on time and be able to have a memorial dedication etc. We are going to have a lot of cars Sunday and that could cause use to have to run some B's. The memorial Dedication will take at lease 1/2 an hour. If I don't cut a class we will be running till 3 am. I am not choosing classes one over another just rotating.

I appreciate each of your passion..

Hi everybody!!! Wow this place changed a lot, well the site, not the topics.. can't we all just get along, and support our track?. Stop the nagging and crying.. All the old man is trying to do is help the class He loves and helped build.. Just like you LLM guys that are trying to get your class bigger and better I mean come on one of your drivers has 3 cars in that class, there's no more family teams no SC anymore.. Just saying... It's not helping anyone nagging on here.. So let's go have a beer, chill out, quit picking on the little guys.. and go racing.. Because we really don't wanna talk about (slow cars)... Lol, see y'all Friday!!!

I support Kens decision...Im just happy to have a place to race..So before everyone starts a goin and blowin about the llm guys...I fully support the decision Ken has placed.. The sportcompacts have just as much right to race regardless as we do...So I wish them the best of shows...If someone asked me to drive a sportcompact.. I would do it with a big smile and have a blast doing it... Just so we are clear....Not all of the llm guys have an issue with Kens decision...See yall Saturday!

I also support Ken. If he says we are off that's fine, because he is going to have a hole mess of street stocks on sunday. The llm's will get a two day show somewhere down the line and it will be a hell of a show. Besides adding us now would be a bad deal for those of us that travel (190 miles one way) for us. all cheap rooms in corpus are booked, every thing else is $130 and up. With all the people we bring with us we would have to have 4 diffrent rooms. Can't afford that on short notice.

See everyone Sat.

Gotta agree with Shane and Bobby Jack. 2 day shows are just too expensive. It costs $200 in diesel each time we race. A hotel is no cheaper because of the number of rooms we have to have, plus the whole 2nd day is waisted waiting for the track to open. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got a life other than racing.
