top_shelf_12
Four reasons: first choice was taken when I got the car (12, daughter's birthday is Dec. 12) and even though that driver changed numbers and gave me permission to use 12 I left it open. So I chose 14, my birthday is April 14 so when written out the last two numbers will be 14 either way you write it. 4 is also taken at CCS. 2014 will be my first year racing so 14 again. Lastly, my dad is a Tony Stewart fan so it's one way to honor the man I've been going to race tracks with since I was two weeks old.
Danielsen Motorsports
My dad was #48 why, he would have to get on and say his story. I picked next number because my rookie year I raced against him, that sucked! So I was #49. Once I started traveling a had to duct tape a 1 or an X due to number conflict with another home track driver. I said the hell with that so I just instituted the 1 permenately and use the number #149. Simple enough.

DirtRacer9s
My very good friend used to run 9 as his number and he was the reason I got into racing. The first car I built he happened to have two stickers left so I used them. I ran it two years and then I came back the third year and I registered early as usual to guarantee my number but for some reason the track let somebody else use the number 9. So since I didn't want to explain what 9FU (I was a little upset) stood for to my daughter I choose to use the first letter of her name and thats how I got 9S. TheCloser
I had my first car given to me when I was in 8th grade. It was a huge pos. My football number that year was 79 so it just stuck.

warrior27
originally I wanted 23. it seemed to work for many reasons. my two favorite drivers drivers are Dale Earnhardt sr. and rusty Wallace so 2 & 3 seemed perfect, my two favorite drivers at sas raced the #23 number (brandon and Larry bendele, one of my favorite basketball players Michael Jordans number, my first race was at age 23, and because I think 23 looks awesome in any font. now I went to race and they told me it was already registered sui I added an x. raced two races with it. then switched to 27 like rusty Wallaces kodiak and early mgd car number. I raced that a couple times. when I chose 27 dad wanted 18. his number when he drove. I was caught up in making my own number and decided to go with 27. after a while I started to think about it and when we decided to get our official number look I decided to take up the 18. the 18 is significant because my dad ran for my. brother who died at birth. he was born July 18 1985. I knew that and still went with 27 but eventually when I thought about it I just had to do #18. hopefully this season or number 18 can make it out to sts later this year and sine next year. fastmontgomery15
HUNTERS NUMBER WAS 5 WHEN WE RACED MICRO MINI SPRINTS AND WE WON A LOT OF RACES WITH THAT NUMBER. BUT WHEN WE CAME IN TO RACE STOCK CARS AT THUNDERHILL RACEWAY IN THE THUNDERSTOCK CLASS THE NUMBER WAS ALREADY TAKEN. SO WE PICKED 15 BECAUSE HUNTER JUST HAD GOING TO BE 15 THAT RACING SEASON.WE ALSO A FONT FOR THAT NUMBER THATS UNIQUE.

thrss1
Lets see there are a couple mostly in no particular order. #1 14 (favorite) freddy fryar #2 3 Bobby Joe and Earnhardt #3 15 Terry James black nova at longhorn #4 51 Leroy Farmer #5 88 Waldo Harper I mostly run #1 mainly because I love my country and its colors so I try to keep them on my car. ks2290
Number 8 was on my first car we got from a friend and we never changed it plus its cheaper to buy three numbers instead of six.
fast18
Not totally sure why I picked number 8 when I started racing but my mom said it was a lucky number. When I asked her why she said "because I had 8 kids !". I had #8 and moved up a class but when I moved back down 2 years later it was taken...so in 97 my new car became #18 and I shared it that year with my wife who won the Golden Girls Championship @ Longhorn. Drove in a few other fun classes with a second car that had numbers from 00, 17, 21 & 37 but looks like I'm gonna finish out my racing with the old number 18. race45
Started as a crew man and eventually crew chief on a hobby stock car 15. So when I started I was also the 15 car. Ran 2 long enduros that way. Moved car up to pure stock when they started at Jax Raceway and they accidently registered 2 of us as 15. So since my postmark was after his I had to make it something else. One turned into four to make 45. Have raced that at 11 different tracks and never had another car with that number show up. chevyfan
Well wanted a # that wasn't to common or affiliated to any cup drivers at the time I started racing , so brother added up our ages that year and and so that's how it came about , have only ran another # cause of it was not my car
Jake Wright Motorsports
Jake picked the 96 in Bando's and Legacy's because that was the year he was born, when we got to the trucks it was taken, so 1/2 of 96 is 48. that is our story!
