rebelracewriter
Outlaw Cruisers & $1.00 Hot Dogs Friday Night at Salina Speedway by Larry Lowrey Jr. SALINA, Kan. Every now and then fans of local dirt track racing need a surprise or 2. This Friday night, May 16, the fans of Salina Speedway will get their first big treat of the year. Friday night the Outlaw Cruisers will be making their first appearance of 2014. The Outlaw Cruisers will be battling it out for top prize of $500! Unlike most motorsports, Cruisers utilize a team of two racers in each car. The racer behind the wheel controls the brake and handles the steering, while the other racer controls the throttle. It will be a fun and unique event for all in attendance. Fans get an extra treat this week as the fine folks of Salina Speedway have decided to make Friday night $1.00 Hot Dog night! It doesn't get any better than that! A mere 4 quarters will get fans a deli case at Salina Speedway. Plan to get as many as you can while they last. Also in action Friday night will be the Belleville Motor Sports IMCA Modifieds, Coors Light Street Stocks, M&H Motors IMCA Northern Sport Mods and Chamucos Night Club Mini Stocks. Brian Knoell will head into Friday night having won back to back Modified main events. In the Northern Sport Mod division Tyler Frye finally notched his 1st win of the season last week. Geoff Jermark and Stacey Huffman were the last winners in the Street Stocks and Mini Stock classes respectively. Racing action has been 2nd to none at Salina Speedway so far in 2014. Different winners, dominating performances, wheel to wheel action, late race heroics and pure excitement are just a few characteristics that accurately describe the action. Racing action gets started Friday night with hot laps at 7:15 p.m. and the racing action goes green shortly after the completion of hot laps. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and seniors (55 and over) are just $5. The word FREE doesnt get thrown around enough in this world, but dont worry Salina Speedway hasnt forgotten how to use this word.
