what would it take

It ain't complicated. Kids in Karts require the same medial attention as everyone else in motorsport. If no ambulance is on site (or qualified EMT's that can treat and/or package for transport) then no laps should be run. Track insurance normally requires that.

(sound of crickets chirping) This should be a no brainer.I've seen some flips and hard hits with the karts. If it costs too much to have an ambulance an hour earlier then race an hour later. If the track schedule calls for racing to start at 5:30 with the karts that means the track is ready for racing. If there is no medical personel on sight then the track is not ready for racing.

Fortunatly (back in my promo days) I was always able to signup a local insurance company to cover (sponsor) the ambulance expenses. That ensured proper medical attention whenever car(s) were at speed ... from hot laps thru features.

It also helped me save on operational overhead, which is something every track must do in order to survive. Anyway, glad to read they'll be keeping the young guns safer.

Go fast, turn left, have fun!
