2damslow Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Ken, South Texas Speedway, What would it take to get the ambulance there to the track before the go karts go on the track. Please it needs to be there. It is roughly an hour earlier than they arrive now. lets make this happen. Quote
2damslow Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Posted April 25, 2014 somebody anybody. Tell me other parents would like the ambulance out there too..?? Quote
OutlawB84 Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 Shouldn't be a question. Safety first. Quote
top_shelf_12 Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 Thought an ambulance had to be on premise before any race vehicle gets on the track Quote
2damslow Posted April 26, 2014 Author Report Posted April 26, 2014 they get there at 6:30. karts run at 5:30 Quote
BeachBum Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) It ain't complicated. Kids in Karts require the same medial attention as everyone else in motorsport. If no ambulance is on site (or qualified EMT's that can treat and/or package for transport) then no laps should be run. Track insurance normally requires that. Edited April 27, 2014 by DTRpr Quote
2damslow Posted April 27, 2014 Author Report Posted April 27, 2014 South texas speedway will you be able to get them there an hour earlier to be present with our kids racing? Quote
arob Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 (sound of crickets chirping) This should be a no brainer.I've seen some flips and hard hits with the karts. If it costs too much to have an ambulance an hour earlier then race an hour later. If the track schedule calls for racing to start at 5:30 with the karts that means the track is ready for racing. If there is no medical personel on sight then the track is not ready for racing. kscollier93 Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 Ok I found out Ken is trying to work on it. Quote
BeachBum Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Fortunatly (back in my promo days) I was always able to signup a local insurance company to cover (sponsor) the ambulance expenses. That ensured proper medical attention whenever car(s) were at speed ... from hot laps thru features. It also helped me save on operational overhead, which is something every track must do in order to survive. Anyway, glad to read they'll be keeping the young guns safer. Go fast, turn left, have fun! SouthTexasSpeedway Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 This has been taken care of. It was a additional cost but we did it anyway. Ken Hobbs Quote
top_shelf_12 Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Can't get cheap on safety especially with kids. I'm sure the parents thank you. Quote
