SALINA, Kan. -- With rain in the area most of the day the decision was to race regardless of what mother nature wanted to do and that decision paid off with a fast smooth and racey track for the fans and race teams at the Salina Speedway on Friday April 26.

Corey Lagroon took off at the start to open up a lead in front of Brandon Blochlinger in the Belleville Motorsports IMCA MOdifieds. The duo paced themselves away from the field and battled later in the feature while dicing through lapped traffic. With two laps to go the leaders made contact, sending Lagroon into a spin and Blochlinger to the pits. On the restart Lagroon was able to hold off week one feature winner Joe Cleveland to drive to Victory Lane. Cleveland finished second with Mike Petersilie third and Jeff Welsh in fourth. Blochlinger and Welsh were the heat winners.

In the Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Northern SportMods Seth Schroer found his way to Victory Lane for the first time in 2013, outlasting defending Champion Jesse Levin, week one winner Tyler Frye, and Brenden Damon. Levin and Brandon Belville were the heat race winners.

GW Fuller looked to have things wrapped up for the Budweiser IMCA Hobby Stock division win but a late challenge from 2011 Champion Mike Traskowsky in Victory Lane. Fuller followed in second with Pete Beaumont in third, and Tommy Fose in fourth. Fuller and Traskowsky were the heat winners.

The battle of the young guns kicked into high gear in the T&R Dirt Construction Mini Stocks as Brian Dunsworth held off Russell Roberg to pick up win number one for 2013. Roberg crossed the stripe only a few feet behind Dunsworth for second with Stacey Huffman third and Elliott May fourth. Dunsworth and May were the heat winners.

The Coors Light Street Stock division didn't compete with a small car count, meaning May 10th will be their first official race of the 2013 season.

Racing continues next Friday night May 3rd with the Friesen Chevrolet Late Models presented by M&H Motors, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Northern SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and T&R Dirt Construction Mini Stocks on hand.
