Official San Antonio Speedway Octoberfast Attendance

Brian Bohlen, Operations Director for San Antonio Speedway, has officially released the following attendance figure for the 2012 Octoberfast Race: 4,858. This total includes all pit passes, grandstand tickets, and kids under 6. WOW!!!

FOR SOME REASON I THINK THERE WERE A LOT MORE. STILL WHAT A WEEKEND OF THE BEST RACING YOU WILL SEE IN TEXAS!!!!

Thanks, rickracer! A lot of people worked hard behind the scenes to make it all happen.

 

On a previous thread, we had a discussion on the seating capacity in the grandstands. I had said 3,500, and Brian said he had come with 4,500 after getting it remeasured. I think it was actually somewhere in between those two figures. Measurements were based on an 18-inch butt width, and maybe that's no longer an accurate measurement. lol Anyway, it was also verified that some fans were turned away because we simply ran out of room!

 

I think we can all safely say that the attendance figures were not disappointing.

Does that count people sitting on each others laps to? I seen a lot of that.

That is still the standard measurement to determine capacity of open (or bench) seating area.
