FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – June 11, 2012 - Former series champion Todd Decker of Edmond, Oklahoma leads the Bob Howard PDC and Mopar National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products southern sport modified division to 81 Speedway in Park City this Saturday night in a makeup race that was rained out last month. This event will be race number four for the tour with career leading series feature winner Travis Johnson having already picked up two of those feature wins, the first coming at the season opener here at the speedway and the other coming two weeks ago at Salina High Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma. Travis has eight career series victories with two those feature victories coming at 81 Speedway. Greg Deterding picked up the other feature win, this coming at Enid Speedway in Enid, Oklahoma back in April for his first career series feature win. Decker holds a slim fifteen point advantage over two-time and defending tour champion Chad McNamara. Johnson is third in points, just 45 points out. Rookie of the year contender Caleb Edwards sits fourth in the point standings while Joe Adams currently sits in the fifth position. Drivers rounding out the top ten in the point standings who are expected to compete include Brandon Smith, Ross McCartney, Kevin Snow, Bobby McGehee, and rookie Craig Ridgway. Tour regulars and other drivers expected to compete include J.D. and Kyle Choate, Kevin Dickson, Chris Lyons, Deterding, Cleo Adams, Courtney McCartney, Mark Harrison, Landon Maddox and Tim Ford. This race will be the sixth event held at the track since the tours inception back in 2009. Winners include Johnson (2), Smith (2) and Jeff Autry. So far through the first three events that have been completed on the 2012 race season, 62 different drivers from three states have competed in at least one event. The average car count through the first three races that have been completed is 35 with the highest coming at Enid Speedway (40) and the lowest (31) at the Salina High Banks. Thirty-four cars showed up at 81 Speedway for the season opener back in April. Gates open this Saturday night at 5:00 pm with racing action set for a 7:00 pm start time. General admission prices are $10, $5 for children while pit passes are $20. 81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then .7 mile west on 77th St. in Park City.
