Tyler Davis Claims NCRA Modified Victory at Humboldt Speedway

Humboldt, Kansas – May 27, 2012 - Tyler Davis picked up his second career National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified feature victory Sunday night as he claimed the fifth annual “Dwaine Whitworth Memorial” at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas.

It wrapped up a successful Memorial Day weekend for the series modified division as USRA rules were allowed for this event and the previous night’s event held at 81 Speedway in Park City where Johnny Bone, Jr. picked up the victory utilizing USRA rules.

The thirty lap feature saw former series champion Marc Hurd claim second while Bone grabbed third place honors. Tanner Mullens claimed fourth while Nathan Mayes rounded out the top five.

Heat races for the thirty-seven car field were won by Josh Lanterman, Hurd, Tillison, Jr. and Bone. Kirby Robe claimed “C” feature honors while Scott Daniels won the “B” feature.

Former five-time series champion Brian Franz played the alphabet soup with successful results. After experiencing a last place finish in his heat race Franz started near the tail of the “C” feature and a sixth place finish and automatic transfer to the “B” feature. Franz would then finish seventh to qualify for the feature finale. He then started seventeenth in the finale and came home to a sixth place finish.

The next event for the NCRA modified division will be held on Sunday night, June 17th during the annual “Hoosier Daddy” Father’s Day Special at 81 Speedway. The series 360 sprint car division will also be in competition.
