(March 6) – A weekend sweep at Spring Nationals got Jordan Grabouski on track to winning the IMCA Modified national championship last season. The hometown hero is among the nearly 130 drivers in five IMCA divisions already pre-registered for the 2012 season-opening special at Beatrice Speedway, set for Friday and Saturday, March 16-17. Modifieds will race for $1,500 to win and a minimum of $200 to start their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers each evening. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $400 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $300 to win Friday and Saturday. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be given each night. Saturday’s show also boasts a $200 to win feature for IMCA Sport Compacts in a national and state points event. Among the drivers joining Grabouski in the predictably talented team of Beatrice regulars are seven-time Spring Nationals winner Johnny Saathoff and 2011 Fall Nationals winners Dan Nelson and Bob Zoubek. Other defending Spring Nationals winners already set to return to Beatrice are Adam Armstrong and Roy Armstrong in the Hobby Stocks and Tyler Frye in the Northern SportMods.
