daffynmark
If anyone happens to be looking for a SLM race event next January I just ran across this announcement on another website. Apparently there is going to be a 3-day event in FL for SLMs. This was the first time I have heard about this event and apparently the first time it will run. Here is the link to the story: http://www.racingone.com/column.asp?artnum=19207 So, how many Texans will be racing?????
HORSEPOWER
I heard about this one a while back and this should be one of the best shows, I look foward to attending (just a fan). I'll be putting in for vacation once December rolls around. I hope a few of our fellow Texans or other drivers from the ROMCO series make the long haul and represent. Does anyone know how long's the drive or the short flight?
Mel
Pensicola is about 12 or 13 hours, I believe Lakeland is another 3 or 4 hours further.... Unless you ride with Big John, You must stop about halfway to pick Bambi out of your grille! J/k John Mel
daffynmark
We drove to the Florida Governor's Cup last year from Waco. We didn't really push it and drove the speed limit or slightly more, stopped for meals etc...took us about 23 hours total to get to New Smyrna, just south of Daytona. If you do not stop for meals and just went through the drive-thru, I would say to Lakeland...roughly 20-22 hours or so minimum. I think Pensacola is more than 3-4 hours from Lakeland though. But then again...it's all relative to speed isn't it! Years ago, before the speed limit change, we drove from Houston to Orlando and that trip took 20 hours straight through.
