6th Greg Davidson

7th Bradley Riethmeyer

lol I have a feeling we might be having more wine with the cheese after some of this. A car with glowing rear rotors won and did what he needed to do to win. He wanted the win BAD.

Welch may have taken the checkered but he was given that race! when a lap car holds up the leader and the leader get passed I guess in ROMCO's eyes you can stuff the lap car cause the caution and the get put back into the lead ? If a lap car causes the leader to loose the lead it's ok to wreck the lap car because ROMCO will put you back up front. NO wonder there were only 14 cars starting the race .

I'm surprised Welch didn't get wrecked himself. When Brandon got under him it appeared that Welch completely drove down on him to stop the pass and then when Greg got under him he did the exact same thing and

almost wrecked both of them.

How can ROMCO have a "last completed lap" rule when if you spin and the leaders come around you before you get going again you go a lap down. THEY ALSO COUNT YELLOW FLAG LAPS!! Look at what Tommy Grimes had to do last week to stay on the lead lap. The #19 deserved to be put into the wall for mirror driving, blocking the leaders, and desregarding the move over flag for 4 laps!

All I know is I saw a potentially great late model show get really, really, really, screwed up!

I would just like to say that in Houston after the races were over, it seems to me that a "racing rumor or misunderstanding" was started about two ROMCO drivers, sounded very interesting and was probably pretty wide spread, for those of you that have heard it, I talked to Terry Barden and there was no truth to it, I personally want to apologize to anyone that I mentioned it to (out of concern) and mislead them about what was told to us. See you guys August 14th @ SAS!

Now Mary Ann, don't you know any rumor worth it salt would have been posted here first by someone using a fake name, and a little extra bs added to it just to get everyone fired up! That's the only reason I read this board...now I missed out on not only the rumor, but all the fireworks...

Giving a redneck internet access is like giving wiskey to indians!!! (and before anybody complains I am part both and it is just meant to be funny)

hey guys, i like to read these threads to see what the opinions are but sometimes the cold hard reality seems to escape you. the drivers, crews, fans and so on like close racing. close racing somtime involves rubbin. you guys and gals in some of the other classes need so get in a super latmodel and try to wheel it around a little bullring like c.c. speedway in 14 seconds for 45 minutes in a car thats over 125 degrees inside. then let the pack breathe down your neck for half that time and to top it off have a lapped car who DOES know that slow cars move to the inside stay in your way for a few laps. you want to believe these cars drive like caddilacs and will do anything at anytime. they dont. these guys driving up in the front every week drive their ass off( sorry ). Just try to view these races from their point of view.

thanks for the space to write in

racer61,

I think you might be missing the point some of the others are making about the last few ROMCO races. I think I have a unique view on it, because I was first a fan, then a crew member and now I drive( in a local class when I am not crewing for a ROMCO team) and yes I have not driven a SLM, but it gets hot inside any race car, and I do know how it feels with faster cars breathing down on you. Everyone that drives and crews in what ever class where ever they race puts in hard work, and sacrifice so that they can race, move up to higher classes, touring series (ROMCO)or some are happy with running the weakly local shows; but when you get spun and the front of your car smashed by a lapped car, or your on the RAW end of a rule interpertation (that changes with every incident) people get tired of fixing thier stuff just to go to the next race and have some other B.S. incident take place. We (the under classes) look to the premire stock car racing series to set the example for Texas racing, so that we can feed off of that example, promote local racing, help bring in sponsors, and feed a few drivers into the upper series to help keep it strong. I dont think anyone doubts the commitment the ROMCO crews and drivers put forth, but what I think has been posted is their frustration with the sanctioning body with its rules enforcement and inturpertion.

While going to the ABC body is a step in the right direction, stricker rule enforcment and consistancy I think might also help. Kind of like what the owners of the Texas tracks are doing with their rules. JMO!! I am only a crew memeber and SS driver.
