Choosing the right Cam

I need some help choosing the right cam for my Chevy Street truck, it has a 305.What i want is more low-end torque, but at the same time i want to be able to notice a difference in the top end. Any help would be appreciated. Also, would a 500 rpm stall converter be to much for a 305? and can i use a shift kit with a stall converter? Thanks in advance.

If I were you I would visit the crane cam site. They have many excellent grinds that will work well in the 305.

The thing about it, you will increase low end torque and make a larger power curve. Hope gas mileage wasn't on the list to increase B)
