Crazyhorse
one of the coolest things i've ever actually paid attention to , i was driving through killeen , burnet area , all along 281 and 190 west-every mile or so there was a racecar...man i bet those guys got a hell of car count somewhere..had to be 5% of the population of three counties owning racecars...only one thing bothered me-it's wednesday and they were all still on trailers??????? don't you guys ever unload them or do you work on them on the trailers????-still nice scenery.... LEGACY
Must of been Allison cars, don't have to take off trailer and work on unless wreacked'just add 4 gallons of gas and go race.Yes it's nice! Lloyd
rebelracewriter
Shawn, more than likely Texas Thunder(Killeen) cars. On 190 you have David Smith II (Mod), Cham Savage(I-Stock), The Egbert clan(4 Mods, 1 IstocK), Allen Waltermire(Mod). Those are some I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure Sarge can add more info.

LEGACY
Just kidding about all those cars being Allisons cars, but the rest is just plain and simple fact! Like it or not. Lloyd
UMSCHEIDRaceServices
well i dont wanna start any troubles but werent you the one that was complaining about a younger kid out running you or some other competetors? Did you ever stop to think maybe he is just working harder at than you. You would be suprised that the more you work on and get t know the equioment you are working with the better off you will be at the track with the adjustments you make. Just my 2 cents. J.C PS i ran Legends for 3 years and my dad ran them for 5 or so. Remember Legends is a spec series just like Legacy but i know for a fact we just as many hours in those cars a week as we do a ROMCO car these days. rsowell
Back to the "racecars everywhere" part of this topic, you would be amazed! In my neiborhood alone they are everywhere. I have my drag car, Doug Ayers lives a couple of blocks over, a dwarf racer about a block away, there are 3 other drag racers within 4 blocks and 2 more in the next sub-division that I have met. Maybe our low spectator numbers are due to the fact they are all out racing thier own junk!
LEGACY
No I was not the one talking against Kyle, I and Texas Legacy Motorsports was 100% behind him. And yes we do work on set-up but it's because we want to not a have to.We have in the past not took the car off the trailer for 2 or 3 races at a time and still qualified on poll and finished 1st or 2nd. As far as working on engine it is non existant Carb jets only nothing else is allowed.Change oil and keep water in it and they last, the engine in our car is on its 7th season. However they are 100% pure stock except webber carb and header,it's hard to screw something up when you can't work on it! ps WE have people still racing Allison cars that race ASA Late Model,Late Models,Romco and ARCA because they are so easy to maintain and race. Sarge
We had a great car count at Texas Thunder last week 27 modifieds showed up, had to run a B-Feature and sent 7 home. Least amount of cars was 16 in a class, the rest were between 17 and 20. We run 5 classes total. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Street Stocks, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Thunder Stocks. Always a great show put on by Pat Wilson and the crew at Texas Thunder. I drive 5 hours round trip every week to watch that show. Made that trip for 3 years to pay to sit in the stands, before I started working there. It is, IMHO, week in, week out, the abosolute best weekly show in the state. Or at least the best show I can make it to weekly. Like I said, I drive 300 miles a week to see the show. Can't be there this week, as I will be with the best touring series in Texas, the Texas Super Racing Series. But I will be back in Killeen on the 24th! And just so I don't piss anyone off, I think that I-37 would win the "Most Improved" award. I am one very lucky man. I get to work for 3 of the best bosses in racing! Now if I could just get Mary Ann and H to adopt me, I would be set! Bill "Sarge" Masom Hardest working race announcer in Texas!
