Jason
Dang Jon is still in the hospital. Those must of been some bad burns. Hope you get better Jon ASAP and go out there and win your next race.
mikeg
Thank all of you for your notes on speedzone and for all your calls about Jon's condition. Your response means more to us than any race we could ever win. Thank you all. Update: Jon continues to slowly improve. The three inch wide wound is almost closed with the aid of five clamps ( hard to describe except that they hurt like hell and had to be tightened every 24 hours by the doctors and required after the first time that he be put under each time) and now some stitches to help hold it together. Jon is now undergoing treatment at the ETMC Wound Center in Tyler. They are putting him in an enclosed place that has the effect of being 35 to 50 feet deep in the water. This process is supposed to escalate the healing process. Jon is not out of the woods yet. Had he not found this wonderful doctor and wound specialist his condition could be a lot worse than it is now. The burn was down into the muscle tissue, much more sever than just a 3rd degree burn. The worst thing they have had to guard against is infection. He has had enough antibiotics to kill a horse. Again, thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. jont66
Yeah, I'm finally out. I was discharged on monday, but continue to go to the Hyperbearic (sp) Chamber daily. Still can't walk on it, and watching me get around on crutches would prob be a joke to most of you guys. Hopefully I will get back to work soon, otherwise I'll be bankrupt. Thanks to everyone who wished me well, and I'm sure that I will be at SAS racing or not. Thanks Jon T. Garrett
