June 11th Kicks Off Three Sizzlin’ Weekends at Cowtown Speedway

Kennedale Texas (June 10, 2011) - Summer is really heating up quickly, and so is the events calendar at Cowtown Speedway! Let’s jump right in and see what’s on tap:

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 11th: LONGHORN SPEEDWEEK – FEATURING SMP SERIES MODIFIEDS

 

This Saturday at Cowtown Speedway is the sixth and final night of the Longhorn Speedweek featuring the COMP Cams SMP Modified Series presented by Racing Head Service. A large field of the top Modified drivers will be on hand from throughout the region, racing for $1,500 to win and $125 to start.

 

Fans can enjoy out of town invaders, such as June 8th series winner Tyler “The Terror” Townsend (TX), June 7th series winner Jason Hughes (OK), June 5th series winner Stormy Scott (NM); and a host of others including Trevor Egbert (TX), Peyton Taylor (AR) and TJ Herndon (TN). At the time of writing, Cowtown “regulars” Chase Allen and Jared Webb are presently 4th and 6th respectively in series points.

 

Joining the touring SMP touring teams will be the Winged Modifieds, Bombers, Limited Modifieds, Winged 600’s on the ¼ mile. The Restricted 600’s will race on the Action Track.

 

Grandstand tickets are $15 for ages 12 and up, $5 ages 6-11, and FREE for ages 5 and under. All pit passes will be regular price of $30. Gates open at 5pm, hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7pm.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17th: KIDSTRAVAGANZA – FEATURING FREE ADMISSION FOR AGES 11 & UNDER!

 

Cowtown Speedway will be racing primarily on Friday nights through the rest of the 2011 racing season.

 

The complete revised schedule will be out soon; but this first night of wall-to-wall Friday night racing action will feature FREE grandstand admission to all Kids that are ages 11 and under! Adults (ages 12 and up) will be just $10 for grandstand admission.

 

And the first 100 Kids (ages 11 and under) through the gate will each receive a FREE PRIZE!

 

Full food concessions will be available, plus these two food specials:

 

$3 Kidz Basket (Hot Dog, bag of chips, and kids drink)

 

$6 RaceFan Basket (Full-size Cowtown Cheeseburger & all the fixin’s, French Fries & Cowtown’s famous Large Sweet Tea)

 

A very full night of racing will kick off with gates opening at 6pm, hot laps at 7:30pm and the first green flag at a special time of 8pm.

 

Classes racing will be: USRA Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Winged Modifieds, LSDCC.com Dwarf Cars, Bombers, Non-Winged A-Class 600’s on the ¼ mile ($300 to win) and Restricted 600’s on the Action Track ($200 to win, sponsored by Catfish O’Harley’s in Decatur). Also joining the Friday night racing card will be Street Stocks, competing for $300 to win and $30 to start.

 

Pit passes on June 17th are being reduced from $30 to $25. Each driver drawing in will pay a $10 draw fee per car entered in every race divisions. Regular 2011 race purses will be paid for this event for all race divisions.

 

BONUS: In addition, the “Friday Night Cowtown Karts” will be racing at 7:30pm (gates open at 6pm) with $10 passes for all ages. And, ANYONE with their $10 Kart pass can go enjoy racing at the big Cowtown track following their Kart races for $10 off.

 

That means if you choose to go watch the races from the grandstand, you will get FREE ADMISSION. If you choose to go into the pit area, you can redeem your Kart pass at the pit window and get into the pits for just $15! So come early and enjoy the Kart races before the races on the big track!

FRIDAY JUNE 23rd & SATURDAY JUNE 24th: SIZZLIN’ 600 NATIONALS!

 

The top Lucas Oil ASCS2 and EMSA series touring drivers from throughout the region will converge upon Cowtown Speedway for two nights of battling with the Cowtown stars in the first ever Sizzlin’ 600 Nationals.

 

Joining the ASCS2 divisions will be the Cowtown Limited Modifieds on Friday night and USRA Modifieds on Saturday night.

 

This event will include a new format for the ASCS2/EMSA teams. Drivers will pay one entry fee for the weekend, whether they race one day or both; but there will be a feature event contested on each night:

 

- Non-Winged A-Class 600’s will be racing for $500 to win and $50 to start (24th) on Friday night; and $1,000 to win and $100 to start (24th) on Saturday night. Each night will pay $25 to non-qualifiers. Non-Winged 600’s will be racing on the ¼ mile track.

 

- The Outlaw Winged 600’s will have the exact same format, purse, structure, entry fee; etc. as the Non-Winged 600’s.

 

- The Restricted 600’s will race on the Action Track with two separate feature events as well. Friday night will pay $250 to win and $50 to start (20th). Saturday night will pay $500 to win and $75 to start (20th).

 

All ASCS2 and EMSA drivers must pre-register at the track website, www.CowtownSpeedway.com by no later than Tuesday, June 21st and that will reserve them a spot in the pits as well as save them $25 in race week pricing. Registration is now open, and early entry is $50 for each of the three ASCS2 divisions. Pre-entered drivers can also purchase a two-day advance pit pass online that will allow them to only have to go through one line at the pit window on Friday night (the far left window). So teams are urged to get pre-entered as soon as possible. All entries received at the track will be $75 per car entered.

 

Limited Modifieds will be racing for $400 to win on Friday night and USRA Modifieds will be racing for $600 to win on Saturday night. Each event will be a Cowtown Speedway weekly point’s event. No entry or draw fees for Limiteds or Modifieds.

 

Adult grandstand tickets (ages 12 and up) each night are just $10! Ages 6-11 each night are $5 and for this event, ages 5 and under are FREE each night! All pit passes each night are $35. 2-day pit passes will only be sold online through June 21st. Like always, entry fee does not include pit passes.
