TheCloser
Will the purse be any bigger than the first race if we get more cars? I would like to come up for the next SportMod race but $250 to win isn't really enough to get me to come up when i can race at CC Speedway for $400 to win. I am not bashing the track. I would love to come back up and run. Its just not very cost efficient to come up and run.

NickHolt
It's very tempting to get on a public forum, such as Lone Star Speedzone, to put pressure on a track to increase the purse for this class or that class, but Lone Star Speedzone is not here for that purpose, so please consider this as you post here. The fact is that at the grass roots level, we are lucky that short tracks still provide purses to support our hobby. I don't believe any of us got selected our racing hobby thinking that we would actually make money in the process. Most purse structures are such that even if someone were to win every event, the bottom line on the accounting statement would be very red. Racers have to decide where to race if their car fits the rules of more than one track. And I am sure that purse structure is one of the considerations we consider before deciding. But there are a lot more factors that impact where we finally decide to race. Things like how welcome we feel at a track, the level of competition at that track, the amenities offered for both the racer and his family/crew, the location of that track and dozens of other considerations. Purse is just one of many. And I'm going to say it again --- If anyone has a particular issue with a track it is always best to contact that track directly to discuss the issue rather than raising it in the forums. A simple phone call to Mary Ann or Debbie would have been the right way to go with this one. Nick

NickHolt
Cody, I'm sure that if you call the track they have the information you are seeking. Nick
debwill
Cody, I got your request on Facebook a little over an hour ago, and I've just sent you a reply. No, the purse is not private. You can find it on the THR website using the following link: THR Purse Payouts
