NickHolt Posted May 26, 2011 Report Share Posted May 26, 2011 Hall of Fame induction, IMCA Lone Star Series highlight Memorial Weekend at Heart O’ Texas WACO, Texas (May 25) – The traditional Memorial Weekend doubleheader at Heart O’ Texas Speedway will have added importance this year with the addition of the Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony and IMCA Lone Star Series event. The second induction ceremony into the speedway’s Wall of Fame will be held Sunday, May 29 at 3 p.m. Ten influential participants in the 53-year history of the speedway will be enshrined on the wall along with last year’s inductees, who included Gordon Woolley, Bill White and J.T. Carpenter. The induction ceremony is free to the public and will include a vintage race car show hosted by the Vintage Texas Open Wheel, a Texas-based registry of vintage oval track race car owners with 35 members. The IMCA Texas Lone Star Series visits the speedway that evening along with the Sprint Series of Texas and Junior Mini Stock Shootout. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Smiley’s Racing Chassis Southern SportMods will be in action competing for all applicable IMCA points. Gates open at 5 p.m. with races starting at 7 p.m. Grandstand prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $3 for children 6-11 and children under 6 are free. Pit passes are $25. The speedway will host Military Appreciation Night on Friday, May 27. All military personnel, along with their spouse and children, will receive free admission to the races on Friday. The race program includes Modifieds, SportMods, Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, pure stocks, cruisers, junior mini stocks, twisters and mini sprints. Come see us in Waco you will be glad you did. You should get with the IMCA Public Relations department to make that correction, Hrodder. I simply copied and pasted their press release. I will make the correction in the above post per your request, however. I would love to do the Umschied Race Services Live Interactive Updates from Heart O' Texas, but last time I tried to provide the track with live updates it didn't turn out too well.
