NickHolt
Texas HighDef’s Duke O’Connor videoed the Thunder Stock main event at Thunderhill Raceway on Saturday, May 7, 2011, and we present it here in it’s entirety. Joey Tschoerner (#14) won the race after a textbook pass of Nick Cole (#5). Aaron Brungot (#50) finished a strong third running with an engine that was having internal oiling problems and “iffy” to say the least. Although Duke was filming another portion of the track when Hunter Montgomery (#15) hung a throttle and slammed the concrete, the aftermath is clearly visible. To watch the video, click here. abrungot
There was a new RND project during our race last week.. Mobil 1 was so kind as to send in this experimental Lubricant to test on the #50. Nick you might want to add this to your testing on that Chassis your building. AB
Truck99
Aaron, I thought you guys were pretty darn crafty with that last-minute bandaid fix. Did you determine what the cause of the upper end oiling problem was? I'm guessing the galley plug dislodged or something like that.
abrungot
I take no credit for the creation of the testing plan... Jeff Beardon, Tommy Gural, Terry Tschoerner, Joey Tschoerner, Billy Eme, Charles Lane dove in trying to remedy the situation on the #50... I was ready to give up after the week i had.... and was quickly told not by words, but action that wasn't happening. @ the Track, The Tranny, & Flexplate pulled and Oil ports at the back of engine were pulled & Checked The Oil Filter Change & Inspection gave us a nice Glitter like substance in the Oil filter. (Motor was truely saying 911) Believed to be Spun/Out of place Cam bearing. Motor is out & new one together and In.. but we haven't had a chance to get the other one torn down yet. All i know is was instructed on how to install the fix, Say the Prayer... Got a push to line up row... & Had to take it easy at first as the Motor was Stone cold as i pulled off Line up row. After that... What came first was up to the Motor Gods..
