rebelracewriter
Morrison and Traskowsky Double Up at Salina Speedway by Dusty Wiegert SALINA, Kan. -- Night two of racing at the Salina Speedway is in the books and two drivers found themselves in Victory Lane for the second week in a row. Danny Morrison Jr. made it two in a row in the Belleville Motorsports Modified division despite a caution filled A Feature. Rodger Peck jumped out into an early lead before handing the reigns over to the 10th starting Morrison to take the eventual win. Peck settled for second with Corey Lagroon third and Larry Sutton fourth. Shannon Johnson was the Hard Charger for the evening, starting 22nd and finishing 9th. Mike Traskowsky also doubled up as he took the win in the Blind Pig Sports Lounge Hobby Stock A Feature. Traskowsky took the lead from Mark Normandin for the win. Normandin finished second, followed by Dennis Berry in third, and Shannon Johnson in fourth. Traskowsky was once again the Hard Charger as well, moving up from 4th to 1st in the Feature. While no stranger to winning, Belleville driver Tyler Frye had his hands full with a caution-plagued Xtreme Motorsports B-Modified A Feature but eventually took the win. At one point Frye restarted in the back of the pack and worked his way to the front by the time the race ended. Frye had a great side by side battle with Josh Rice before pulling away for the win. Rice followed in second, with Tyler Sutton third, and Kurtis Phil in fourth. Justin Kinderknecht drove to the win in the Auto House Mod Lite division, giving the Cave Divers Racing Team 2 wins in 2 weeks. Car owner Tyler Bradshaw, last week's winner, drove from a last place starting spot to second during the feature event. BJ Dauer turned in an excellend finish in third, with Dustin Forsberg in fourth. A familiar face to the Salina Speedway, and the Galagher section for that matter, took home the top prize in the Accurate Electric Front Wheel Compact A Feature. Salina's Branston Arnder took the top spot at the beginning of the event and never looked back to take the win in the caution free race. Wayne Juenemann finished second, Brandon Lobdell in third, and Cody Johnson in fourth. Racing continues next week at the Salina Speedway featuring the Belleville Motorsports Modifieds, Coors Light Stock Cars, Xtreme Motorsports B-Modifieds, Blind Pig Sports Lounge Hobby Stocks, and Accurate Electric Front Wheel Compacts. The Auto House Mod Lites will have the night off. For more information on the Salina Speedway please visit www.racesalinaspeedway.com or call 785-914-5141.
