The local Car Wash for Kids will be held on Friday, May 20, at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) from 12P (noon) until 6P. “Thunderhill Raceway is proud to be a part of this united effort for children’s causes,” said Mary Ann Naumann, Thunderhill Raceway’s Owner/Promoter. “This event is a great way for fans and local residents to come out, see our venue and participate in a record-setting fundraising effort.” Funds raised through NASCAR Unites on NASCAR Day: Car Wash for Kids will benefit The NASCAR Foundation and Hope & Love 4 Kids, a local non-profit organization. The NASCAR Foundation is committed to children’s causes and, through the NASCAR Unites campaign, has vowed to raise $1 million and generate over a million volunteer hours in 2011. Hope & Love 4 Kids is a local organization that helps children in our community by providing basic necessities, comforting them in their time of need and uplifting them through service and outreach. For a $10 donation, attendees will receive a car wash and a NASCAR Unites wrist band. NASCAR Unites’ wrist bands encourage fans to do a good deed and pay it forward. A “dry off” lap around the race track will also be given to each of the car wash participants. NASCAR Unites on NASCAR Day: Car Wash for Kids will be NASCAR Day’s eighth charitable celebration. To date, NASCAR Day has raised more than $8 million for The NASCAR Foundation, sending more than 500 kids to Victory Junction, treating more than 19,000 pediatric patients annually at Speediatrics units and granted more than 500 NASCAR-themed wishes. debwill
We welcome all cars, trailers, etc. We're also looking for volunteers to help wash the cars. Please send me an e-mail at debbie@thunderhillraceway.com if you want to volunteer! I do want to add that Yarrington Materials will be furnishing a water truck and water to help with the car wash. Since Kyle is under Stage 1 restrictions, we truly appreciate this sponsorship in making the car wash possible.
