NickHolt
Jimmy Breeding whooped on 'em tonight at Cardinal Motor Speedway. Twenty-Three IMCA Modifieds lined up for the feature race and were brought to the green by #71 Donnie Frudiger and #14 Jim Pierce, on lap one, turn four, #00 Terry Woody got tangled up with #85 Neal Flowers which took safety crews quite some time to untangle, #00 Woody was taken off the track behind a wrecker while Neal Flowers continued to race. The race was relined and restarted in double file, not even one lap was completed. The feature race was red flagged 3 times early on, drivers were getting tangled up, but once the race finally got underway it was easy to see that #21 Jimmy Breeding brought a rocket-ship to the race. Although #16 Bob Sikes drove a very fast race and was Breeding's only competition early on, #21 Breeding opened up a huge lead and was checked out. The race to watch was between #85 Neal Flowers and #49 Vince Ogle who were battling hard for fourth and fifth places. IMCA Modifieds 1.#21 Jimmy Breeding 2.#16 Bob Sikes 3.#17 Roy Don Mason 4.#49 Vince Ogle 5.#85 Neal Flowers 6.#53 J.D. White IMCA Stock Cars had a good turn out with 17 cars on the starting grid. #71 Phillip Houston and #6 Lynard Barrera were on the front row. #71 Phillip Houston took the early lead and was running very good after having a tough time getting any luck to go his way this season. #16 Bubba Sikes had moved up quickly from his 3rd row starting position to challenge Houston and taking the lead ,but, on lap 6 a red flag was thrown to address the rear bumper falling off of the #9 Justin Graves car, and Houston was in front on the restart making the #16 have to pass #71 twice. A minimum of restarts for the feature made the race progress quickly , very fast race cars made for exciting racing for the fans. #34 Tim Plye moved up from his start near the back of the field and was passing many cars with ease, but #16 Bubba Sikes held the lead to the checker, taking his second feature race of the season.
