If you missed them the first time, you should try to make the encore visit. These cars flat-ass fly around the track. Points of interest, make sure to bring some goggles, get there early to get a good seat and don't wear white. LOL JMH

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 22, 2004) – Last Friday night’s American Sprint Car Series debut at Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway was such a rousing success that a second Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region event has been added for this August atop the quarter-mile clay oval.

Last Friday’s ASCS Gulf South outing at Heart O’ Texas drew a pit area filled with 36 Sprint Cars and a standing room only crowd on the spectator side of the fence. After Claud Estes of Godley, TX, made a late pass en route to claiming his first career ASCS feature victory, it left the enthusiastic crowd wanting more.

By popular demand, track management at Heart O’ Texas Speedway, along with Gulf South Region coordinator Keith Johnson, have made arrangements to bring the Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores ASCS Gulf South Region back to Heart O’ Texas Speedway on Friday night, August 20.

The next night, the Gulf South Region will head north to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX, to take on the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region in the rescheduled Second Annual ASCS Gulf South vs. Sooner Shootout, which was postponed by rain from this past Saturday night to August 21.
