Thunder Hill drivers ready to share remote with KPEZ-FM on Saturday

Thunder Hill Raceway has the weekend off, what with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck and Indy Racing League (IRL) races running up at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth from June 10-12.

But that doesn’t mean THR drivers are taking the weekend off.

While most of the THR Late Model, A-Line Auto Part Street Stock and Capital City Trade & Technical School Hobby Stock drivers head under the hood and work on their cars this weekend, some of the THR drivers will join KPEZ-FM (also known as Z-102.3) at two area remotes.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Marvin Buck (Street Stock #33), John Wire (#71 Street Stock) and Marc Currey (#05 Late Model) are scheduled to join the Chuck Nash Chevrolet Pace Truck at the Z-102.3 live remote at Chuck Nash Chevrolet in San Marcos (located off exit 204 off IH-35).

Then from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Buck, Currey and the THR Pace Truck will join one of the racing vehicles from Meredith Racing Engines and Z-102.3 at Perfect 10, located at F.M. 1325 and IH-35 (exit 250) in Austin, just south of Round Rock.

Turnabout will be fair play, as it will be Z-102.3 Night at Thunder Hill on Saturday, June 19. One lucky fan will get a chance to race against the Z-102.3 DJs in the THR Grand Stocks during intermission that night. Texas State University Head Coach David Bailiff will be the Grand Marshall that night as well.
