I'll start this thread this time instead of Jason.

It is really funny that NASCAr will through a caution for a Rusty Wallace crash claiming tht Debres is on the track (which there probally was, but was out of the grove.) The only reason that they called it was for the great # 8. He was in the lucky dog position and they, In my opinion called it for him. When the race clearly needed a caution for the oil laid down by Casey Mears, they did not.

Now junior has a good day and blow away the points race since everyone else had trouble

Nice win for Mark Martin, He even said that Viagra was hard on him to get a win. Nice pun - I laughed!!!

2 weeks in a row. No wrecks but Jr gets his caution. Biffle gets loose and they throw a caution. Rusty cuts a tire and they throw a caution. 2 BS cautions 2 weeks in a row for their man Dale Jr. It is 100% BS.

Great win for Mark, Jr. now leading by 100 points....super.....

Its a good thing they did not throw a flag for the oil down that caused the 9 to spin...Jr. may have lost a position....LOL

I like a little cheese with my Whine.

I never said that I disliked Jr. I have all of his DVDs and still manage to support Anhauser - Busch on a regular basis. All I wanted to try to say is that it is ironic that every time that Jr is in the lucky dog position NASCAR is so quick to call a questionable yellow flag. Today they were quick to call the yellow today. When Casey Mears was clearly smoking and leaking they did not do anything not even blag flag him.

as far as the other wrecks today, one could / would expect that the all mighty NASCAR sanction could afford a was to have the caution light correspond to the scoring system. Even ROMCO has a transponder system to tell where every one if running when a caution flag comes out. Nascar needs to implement something. They Lucky dog rules is fair some what since no more racing back to the yellow.

I guess noone noticed that Jr was in position for the lucky dog 4 - 5 times before that occasion. 2 of those he ran away from the other lapped cars and lost the lucky dog because of long runs and Stewart adding other cars to being a lap down with cautions falling shortly after. Seems to me if NASCAR was "helping" Jr they would have thrown the yellow just before Tony S caught the tail end of the lead lap.

courtesy of Jayski and Felix Sabates/ Ganassi PR Release :

heard many reports during the race and on shows later that #41-Casey Mears lost an engine which got oil on the track and some drivers complained that Mears stayed on the track too long, from a team PR: Mears told the team he thought he had a tire going flat as the car was beginning to smoke. He stayed at the top of the track until he could pit. He learned a lap later that he was dropping oil on the track but didn't realize it because the motor was still running. The leader [#9 Kahne] ran through the oil and spun bringing out the final caution on lap 383. The team repaired the oil line and Mears was able to finish the race 28th.(Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates PR)(6-7-2004)
