Cowtown NSS Early Entry Closes 11/8; Latest Race Week Updates & Notes

Kennedale TX (11/4/10) by DarinShort.com. The 4th annual November Sprint Shootout at Cowtown Speedway presented by City Vending and ShopTheBOSS.com held on November 12-13, 2010 is now just around the corner. Here are several event notes and updates:

The Weather. Right now, the 10 day forecast goes through NSS race weekend, and it is showing dry, sunny and highs around 70 degrees…which will make for stellar racing conditions. Just dress warmly in the stands to make sure you are comfortable at nighttime.

Race teams: Save time standing in the pit line Friday night. At the 2010 CSN we experimented with pre-selling 2-day pit passes. And it worked. So if you want to save time by only having to stand in one line on Friday night to get your pay card & pit passes, you can do so by purchasing your pit passes and registering your car in advance at the track website. Then when you arrive, you simply go to the VIP Window (far left pit window) to get everything you need. This service is available online through November 8th. After that date 2-day passes and pre-entry are no longer available and you will have to purchase your pit pass in one of the three other pit windows then get your credentials, or enter the event in the far left window. So if you don’t like waiting in lines, you can cut your wait time in half by taking advantage of this service. Note that additional pit passes are not sold at the VIP window – this window is only for pay cards and teams that purchased their 2-day pit passes in advance.

Two completely separate ASCS Sprint shows. Friday and Saturday night are completely independent of each other for the sprint cars. One registration fee covers the entire weekend of racing and guarantees your reserved pit space. Friday night’s feature is 30 laps while Saturday night’s finale is 35 laps.

Driver pre-registration for pit parking requests is required. As was the case the past three years, driver pre-entry on the track website is highly recommended, as it will reserve your parking space in the pit area and save you time in the pit line on Friday night. A limited amount of concrete padded spaces are available, so if you need one, you should register as soon as possible. Phone-in entries and phone-in parking requests will not be taken by unregistered drivers. Online pre-entry closes November 8th, but if you have specific parking requests, you will want to enter as soon as possible; as we are expecting another big field of cars total for the weekend. And Limited Modifieds have been added to the Saturday night finale. There is no early entry for the Limiteds, they will register upon arrival to the track on Saturday. See the forum at the track website for the latest updates on that portion of the event.

New early entries are arriving daily. Another great field of drivers in all divisions is being assembled and here are some of the latest sprint team entries. Calvin Lutz has entered his Accu-Fab sponsored #0 sprinter driven by Topeka’s Chris Morgan. ASCS Lone Star Region point leader Eric Baldaccini has entered his family-owned #4. Travis Elliot of Alvin Texas brings his hard charging #15T back to Cowtown for the NSS…Travis was the #2 point getter at Cowtown’s Summer Sprintacular. Brothers Jarrett (#56) and Nick (#65L) Lucito have also joined the fray and we’re looking forward to having Nick back after a hard crash on top of the corner two wall ended his 2009 NSS run. And after what seems like a long absence, Jerry Bell has entered his familiar #85 and we look forward to having him back at Cowtown.

Reminder of earlier start times. The city of Kennedale enforces a midnight curfew, all racing must be completed by then. Friday night, the pits will open at 4pm, grandstands open at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing starts at 7pm sharp – so make sure to arrive early! And on Saturday, the pits will open at 4pm, grandstands open at 4:30, with hot laps at 5:45 and the first green flag drops at 6:30pm.

Save $10 by purchasing advance 2-day tickets. Fans can save $10 by purchasing their tickets online at http://www.CowtownSpeedway.com in advance (through November 13th - just one day before the race), as 2-day adult grandstand pass will cost just $35.
