.J. Johnson Takes Another ASCS Canyon Win at CSP!

 

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (October 23, 2010) – R.J. Johnson finished off Canyon Speedway Park’s Hall of Fame Classic weekend by racing to his fifth wingless American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region feature win of the season.

 

The Phoenix shoe raced from the pole position to take his seventh career ASCS Canyon Region triumph and third series win of the year at CSP aboard the Michael Brothers Ford-powered Racing Mammoth Sound No. 77m Sherman with Josh Pelkey in the runner-up position.

 

Current series points leader Charles Davis, Jr., climbed from ninth to take the show position, with Rick Ziehl and Andrew Reinbold rounding out the top five. Shon Deskins raced from 16th to sixth, with Ronnie Clark, Stevie Sussex, Kyle Sager and Bryan Swinehart completing the top ten.

 

Ziehl, Pelkey, Reinbold and Clark topped heat race action for the 33-car field, with Mike Martin and Deskins winning the “B” Mains.
