RichardFord Posted October 11, 2010 Author Report Posted October 11, 2010 Not my call on if they wear gloves , I just posted the video , wish I hadnt , guess from now on nobody without gloves or window net can carry my camera. Hate to upset so many folks. Someone always has to be negative , cant just sit and watch a video , no no gotta use your powers on the internet. There grown men if they choose not to wear gloves , so be it , posting on the internet isnt gonna do anything. Quote
NickHolt Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 There is nothing negative about bringing safety lapses to the attention of others. If only one person sees these comments about gloves and window nets and makes a decision to upgrade their personal safety gear, those "negative" comments become worth their weight in gold... thumper Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 I still dont wear gloves and never will if not mandated. At RGS I dont even wear a fire suit. The window net thing is different.I watched a man at Edinburg Speedway in the mid 70s loose his left hand because nobody used them back then. His car caught a curled piece of wall which was thick steel plating from the ships junked here.It caught his RR fender well and threw the car over a couple of times. His hand went out the window and the car rolled over his wrist. The hand was fine but about 4 inches of arm was destroyed. He chose to remove the hand rather than trying to rehook it and have limited use.He became out flagger. Some people have no luck at all. This man later was diagnoised with termal cancer and given 6 months to live.He wanted to finish projects but while welding on a trailer he cought on fire because he was wearing a nilon jump suit.He lived 3 more days in excrutiating pain. A window net would have changed not only his life but also his death. Quote
