She beat Tony Kanaan heads up in the last ten laps. The girl can drive. Budman, I was worried about you. Your girl comes home second (and 10th in points) and we don't hear from you until today? I was afraid you'd had a heart attack...

Thanks for the clip, man.

Buddy, Sure wish she would learn how to drive a race car like some have suggested. Yep, second place is the first loser but tell me, in a 28 car race who fares better, the first loser or the second loser? Hmmmmmmmm. Never looked at racing that way before. Wasn"t it Lloyd Ruby who was the first loser so many times yet he is considered one of the best ever.

Mike. Congratulations on your many second place finishes and I am sure you probably got a few first to add to that list also. I may be Mr. Sarcastic but whats different from dishing out a plate of baked crow versus putting down someone with talent some do not wish to recognize. Don't see much difference there. Check her record friend, she has won an IRL race.

Well that next WIN won't come this year. That opportunity was squandered last Saturday night.

Here is a little something to think about. As I pointed out at the time on one of Danica's forums, if those had been two Ganassi or two Penske cars we would not have seen two team mates dueling for second place. Instead, they would have teamed up, in tandum, fastest car in front and run down the leader, not just let him drive away from them. THAT is how championships are won.

I wondered at the time, why Michael Andretti had not sent down the marching orders to the drivers to do just that. On the other hand, it turns out he might have, and the order was ignored. We will probably never know. BUT, a funny thing happened two days after the race. The primary sponsor for Kanaan announced it would not be returning next year. At the same time, Andretti Autosport announced in light of the lose of sponsorship, they had given Tony permission to approach other teams, inspite of still having 3 years on his contract with AA. Ordinarily, a team that really wanted to keep their driver would have announced they would be diligently searching for a replacement sponsor during the coming off-season.

Now I have no way of knowing whether all this is true. It is really just speculation on my part. But ya gotta wonder, huh?
