rebelracewriter
11 cars started the IMCA Modified A-main with Jamie Campbell and Jason Borlace on the front row, while points chasers Glen Allen and Henry Witt sat in row five. Borlace got the lead on green and was quickly challenged by Adan Arambula coming out of row four. On lap 5 Arambula grabbed the point, while Witt had moved up to second and Allen, in his new car, to fifth. Caution came on lap 6 for a spin by Rick Talley and bunched the field, Borlace pulled off from third w/overheating problems. On the restart, Arambula and Witt began to inch away, with Witt looking low occasionally for the lead. At the crossed flags it was Arambula, by three car lengths over Witt, Micky Helm, Allen, and Curt Clegg. Allen and Helm battled for third , with Witt closing back in Arambula. What would have been a good fight for the lead ended on lap 13 when Arambula broke the drive coupler and rolled to a stop, at the same time John Talley was stopping as well. On the restart, Allen got around Helm only to have caution come out again for J. Tally. Once back to green, Helm hung with Witt for a couple laps, but Witt was able to put some distance on the battle between Helm and Allen. As the checkers flew it was Witt in the Affiliated Glass/ Midwest Motorsports/Wilson Chassis Co./Superior Race Fuels/JH Rice Farms/Gearte Carbs/HOT Chassis taking the win. Witt Mi.
