trbfan Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I have a relatively clear video of the accident. If anyone wants to see it I can upload it somewhere. Quote
dano36 Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I was in the stands just out of turn 4 and watched it all happen. Was watching him and it looked like something broke and he turned right sharply hitting the wall really hard causing the car to get a little airborne. Had a clear view of him in the car and sure was glad to see him give that thumbs up. Glad to know he is OK and thank GOD for racing safety equipment. And thanks to officials in the stands the number of longneckers who usally run to the scene was kept to a minimum. Hope to see 15 back out there next season. Quote

WELL WE FOUND OUT IT WAS A TIRE GOING DOWN FROM CONTACT WITH THE 13X CAR ABOUT 3 LAPS BEFORE. AND THE CAR JUST SNAP WHEN ENTERING TURN 3 AND 4 AND HE JUST SHOT HIM INTO THE WALL TRYING TO CORRECT IT. HES RACED MINI SPRINTS FOR 2 YEARS FINSHED 3RD IN POINTS HIS FIRST YEAR AND HE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR. THE CAR WAS GIVIEN TO US AND WE WENT OUT AND NEVER BEEN IN THE CAR OR AT THE TRACK WE FINSHED 6TH ON SEPT 11TH SO THIS WAS HIS 2ND RACE JUST GOT INTO IT WITH SOME OTHER DRIVER WHO WAS DRIVING A LITTLE WILD BUT HE HELD HIS OWN FOR AWHILE. I THINK HE USE TO THE 750 POUND SPRINT AND THEN TO GET IN A 3400 POUND CAR WAS A LOT DIFFRENT LOL. BUT HES LEARNING AND WE WILL BE BACK. NOT TO BAD FOR A 15 YEAR OLD RACING WITH NOTHING BUT ADULTS. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS IT MEANS ALOT TO HAVE FANS OUT THERE THAT CARE!!!! Edited September 29, 2010 by fastmontgomery5 Quote
HiTech Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) looked like a tire to me ...my first thought ..that car snapped to fast for a mistake ..even the best drivers lose control or turn the wrong way trying to save it ..glad he is ok ..my son is a rookie too ..i always tell him to go left always .so far so good ..but we all know someday i hope will never happen will ..
