NickHolt Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Provided the Good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise, I will be doing Live Interactive Updates both on Friday and Saturday from Thunderhill Raceway's "Texas Stock Car Spectacular." Believe me, you will want to be in the grandstands or the pits for this one - the biggest race of the year for THR. I will do my best to bring you the racing action, but there is absolutely no substitute for being there taking in all the sights, sounds and drama. I will be firing up the CoverItLive blogging software around 6:30 pm on Friday and 5:00 pm on Saturday. To join in Friday's Live Interactive Updates, click here. To join in Saturday's Live Interactive Updates, click here. Nick Quote
Team Hogan Racing Mom Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 We'll be reading the on-line up dates because Christopher is racing this weekend at Red River in Wichita Falls for a triple header Bandolero race. I am so happy you do the updates Nick, it is hard enough to miss a race like the Spectacular but we can atleast keep up through the updates, Thanks!!! Quote
wheelchair49 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 (edited) I will read the live updates on my laptop in bed as I had a minor operation on my backside to cut out an offending infection. I am not susposed to move around a lot. Thanks Nick. Edited September 23, 2010 by wheelchair49 Quote
NickHolt Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 Yep, that's why I do the updates. Some of our racing family just can't make it to the track for some reason or other. Nick Quote
NickHolt Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 Nice and sunny here at Thunderhill raceway this afternoon. A few puddles in the infield, but no bass boats out there. LOL. A bunch of cars here already. 16 modifieds are out practicing right now, for instance.. I'm going to the pits to get with Duke for an interview or two.. I'll fire up the CoverItLive software for the Updates around 6:30 Nick Quote
lilmodified Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 how many sport mods? i can't make it tonight, either ...so i'll be hanging out on here with ya Quote
NickHolt Posted September 24, 2010 Author Report Posted September 24, 2010 Don't have a count on the SportMods, but it looks like quite a few. Saw some CC cars. Talked to Bruce Beddoe who's son will be driving his SportMod tonight. I am going down to the office to see if I can get a list of teams here tonight. Nick Quote
NickHolt Posted September 27, 2010 Author Report Posted September 27, 2010 We had 672 people on line with us for the Live Interactive Updates from THR's Stock Car Racing Spectacular this past weekend - 427 on Saturday and 245 on Friday. And already more than double that number of folks checking out the replays. If you want to see what was said during the Saturday updates, click here. To read the Friday updates, click here. Tps_55 Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Hey nick thanks for the live updates. Also thanks for giving us (the air cooled vw's) a shout out during the race. Quote
NickHolt Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 I honestly believe that an air-cooled VW could be the car to beat in the TPS series. Yes, they are hard to set up with all that rear weight, but if one understood the principle of Roll Couple Distribution, had a bucket of springs (torsion bars?) handy and spent about a month testing different spring combinations those bugs could do it. Of course, with the basically free engine/carb rules for the air-cooled cars, it might be difficult getting the engine to hold together long enough to smoke the competition... Nick Quote
