NCRA Southern Modifieds Back at Enid Speedway Sunday Evening!

Points Battle Looks to Go Down to the Wire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Midwest City, Oklahoma – September 20, 2010 - After taking close to a full month off, it is down the home stretch for the O’Reilly/NCRA southern modified division as they make their third of four appearances of the season at Enid Speedway, located on the Garfield County Fairgrounds, in Enid, Oklahoma this coming Sunday evening. And not only will “The Slam Jam” battle for the points championship resume, we will also see if there can be eight different feature winners in the past eight events held thus far on the 2010 tour.

A position that he has held since the season opener back in March, Dustin Buntin of Wheatland, Oklahoma comes in as the series points leader, all despite having yet reached victory lane thus far during the 2010 race season.

On his heels and 135 points out of the top spot is Edmond, Oklahoma driver Todd Decker. Todd also leads the way with two feature victories on the season, the only driver to have picked up multiple wins thus far.

Despite a rough outing in the series last event held at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas, Kevin Snow of Enid sits third in the point standings, just 45 points behind Decker.

Robert Elliott of Clinton currently sits fourth in the point standings and also has reached victory lane in 2010. He also is the leading career feature winner in the second year division with three. Rounding out the top five is Kevin Dickson of Mannford with Fairview resident Landon Maddox just ten points behind.

While missing just one race, Randy Sallee of Woodward is sixth in the point standings and is closing in on the fight for the top five in series points.

Drivers rounding out the top ten include veteran modified driver Frank Graven of Cushing, Donnie McConnell (Midwest City) and Randy Bohnstedt (Hennessey). Other series regulars that are also expected to compete include Brandon Cross (Chandler), Tommy Bohnstedt (Hennessey) and Ross McCartney (Enid).

Other drivers expected include Enid driver Travis Johnson, who won the last time the series competed back on August 15 as he wired the field to pick up his first career series victory, Kyle Slader of Muskogee, Joe Adams, Cleo Adams, Nick Shenberger, Dakota Moore, Hesston Shaw and Tommy Morgan. The previous events held at the Garfield County Fairgrounds oval saw car counts of 41 and 42 and close to forty drivers are once again expected to compete for the $500 to win, $100 to start feature finale event with all drivers starting the “B” feature but not transferring to the finale earning $50. There is a $25 entry fee due at time of draw.

Kelly Cross of Amarillo picked up the last feature victory held back on August 28th while Elliott picked up his victory one night earlier at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway. Slader won has his home track of Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee back on August 7th while Todd Decker won the other event held at Enid Speedway back on July 25th. He also picked up the victory during the season opener at Elk Citys I-40 Speedway back in March. Randy Timms of Wheatland has also reached victory lane, this coming at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker back on April 24th.
