IMCA point season ends Sunday, Sept. 26; engine claim eligibility extended to specials

Vinton, Iowa (September 21, 2010) – Final point races of the 2010 season will be held this Sunday, Sept. 26 in six IMCA divisions.

National champions in the IMCA Modified, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod, Southwest Racing Specialties Southern SportMod and Mach-1 Sport Compact classes will be announced as soon as all race reports from Sept. 24-26 events are received and bonus points for track and special series championships are tabulated.

A clarification has been made to engine claim eligibility at special events remaining on the post-point season schedule.

Drivers will be allowed to claim the engine of any driver who claimed them this year, regardless of what track that claim occurred at.

All carburetor and shock absorber claim rules and procedures remain in effect for the Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and both SportMod divisions.
