I've always thought it would be cool to hold a race like this. More tracks should look into it. Just like the old days (long long long time ago)....run what ya brung as long as its safe. Can you imagine what would show up?

Hey Nick,

Here is an event your LTA chassis is probably legal for. Pull it out of the weeds and run it. :P

Sorry,,,, my LTA chassis are only good at tracks built by Donald Teague and his Texas TRAC group that were going to build NASCAR tracks in tiny towns all over Texas...

Here's the link for those of you who have forgotten about this one... >>>Link to Donald Teague saga...

I remember when Ware would have an open competition night at Pan Am. Would see all kinds of stuff from dual carbs on late models to 12 inch rubber on hobby stocks.

Most of the time, the cars that were basically left alone did the best. The hobby motors couldn't pull those big tires, and the guys with trick manifolds and such had a hard time getting th engines to run right with very little practice.

I remember when Pan Am would let you run your street car on the track. You would start from a dead stop at the Start\Finish line and run one lap first one to the line wins. That was a blast. My 68 Impala lost to a VW Bug. I lost it in turn 4. :P Good Times. Lenny66 B)

Im with you on this one dancer. Put them all on the track at once. It would be a race that going across the finish line first at the checkers doesnt matter. It would be a race of FUN. Being allowed to break all the rules and run just about anything you want. Managing to work your way around the slower cars and the slower cars trying to race with the faster ones at the same time. The fans would love it! I can see it now.....Thunder Stocks with injected motors, BIG Wide tires, traction control and running on nitro. 200 lap race and yellows dont count. Just leave the track lights on at night and come back in the morning to see whos still running.

Thunderhill used to do this exact thing - they called them spectator races. The were a lot of fun to watch. I suspect insurance put a stop to it, but not sure....
