Sarge Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Whoops, the title should have been Dirt racing by the TBS team. Way to go Duane Toyne. Street Stock winner, after a flat at just under halfway. And a great run in the SportMod. In the interview in the booth, Joe said you didn't have a good night in the SportMod. I don't know which SportMods he was watching, but 3rd in the heat for your first ever time in the car, passing the points leader clean and running away from him, I thought was pretty dang good. Then 6th in the feature. Most guys would love to have as bad of a night as you did for the first time out. Not bad for "I am just going to run in the back and get a feel for it". Terry had a good night go decent, when he to had a flat tire while running second, caught a lucky caution, and got back to 5th or 6th. At one time, TBS was 2nd and 3rd, and racing each other HARD for 2nd. Good show, great racing. Now that Duane has a SportMod, does that mean we will see Joey in the 48x next year? And where the heck is Aaron? He would look good in the IMCA Hobby Stocks next year. Love having TBS at the track. Good, hard, fast, clean racers. And they know why they are at the track. To have FUN! I am looking forward to more dirty racing by the TBS team in 2011! Stay safe, Bill "Sarge" Masom Quote
toyman85 Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Sarge, FIRST OF ALL, a BIG "thank you" for all the kuddo's you've given me AND Terry and TBS racing this year at Tx. Thunder. We've enjoyed racing there and it's always been about having fun. Terry and I and the whole TBS gang again say "thank you". Now about last night: 1) The SS feature was not only a blast, but the #01 & #48x were freakin flying! We did run 2 & 3 for quite a while (with the #48x in front of the #01 I might add). LOL Terry! Yea, I had a flat running second and I believe Terry's flat came when he was running 2nd also. So we both restarted dead last at different times and still got back to the front. 2) That whole "I'm going to run the back and get a feel for it" lasted about 3 laps, I know. HOLY CRAP that car was "the shitz"! Good God Almighty! What a freakin rush! I set out to stay out of the way because championships are being decided right now but I just couldn't "ride". That car was fast at half throttle. When I decided "the hell with following" I think everyone could see what that car is capable of. I'm diffently going to need some more seat time! As far as Joey and Aaron, your guess is as good as mine. We may need a "section" in the pits up there at Tx. Thunder for all the cars we may bring next year! (HINT, HINT) LOL Edited September 19, 2010 by toyman85 Quote
Truck99 Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Great run D! Hope you've decided to bring that sport mod to the spectacular. Quote
Cleaner Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Amen Brother. You guys kicked butt last night. It was great watching you guys run. And yes Duane, Your still an A Hole. HAHAHAHA. Great first time out in the Mod. Cant wait to get mine finished so I can give you a run for your money. See you this weekend at the Spectacular. Quote
TBSSS01 Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Yeah Sarge wha Duane said. This season was a total blast being able to run with the best and to actually beat them sometimes even with some of the bad luck we still gave the front runners something to worry about. And Duane you were just lucky to have your flat before mine because I was really going to whup up on you. Ha Ha You really had a good run by starting 5th getting to 2nd having a flat ( by no fault of mine ) starting in the rear of about 18 cars and still winning the race, and all this in only 20 laps. Now lets see if we can do this at THR at the Spectacular this next weekend. Quote
