Series founder, Mary Ann Naumann and several of her Officials & Staff came up with the idea for the Triple Crown Series last year because they wanted to create some additional excitement for both drivers and fans with selected special dates during the season. "I think it creates an opportunity for such a prestigious title and adds to the already excitement that TSRS offers to the Race Fans & for the Drivers & their Crews" said Naumann. The series choose three race dates at three different tracks to test driver's ability to set-up a wining racecar and also to test the driver's skill behind the wheel. The Triple Crown Series will also feature an added bonus to any driver that can will all three of the special races. Not only does the driver win that night's purse, but also by sweeping the three race mini series, the driver will win an additional $2,500 bonus and a multitude of contingency awards. With the new racing surface installed last year, Houston Motorsports Park has become an extremely fast and competitive track. The state of the art track located on the east side of Houston recently made additional improvements by adding a sealing agent to the track surface. The sealer has added grip to the surface and has begun to add a second grove allowing for more side by side racing. At the May 7th, Houston 100 All Star Race, Texas Super Racing Series drivers found passing easier than before and gave fans one of the most exciting races in series history. "What an incredible race TSRS had here on May 7th, just before the NASCAR cars took to the track, I think it is just one more thing that the owners of HMSP have done for the race fans and the racers, we love this track and those associated with it!" stated Naumann. Houston Motorsports Park owners, Graham and David Baker and their families, have put together a great evening of racing for fans this weekend. Local classes will begin time trials at 5:00PM and Heat races are set to begin at 6:15PM. For ticket information please call (281) 458-1972 or visit their web site at www.houstonmotorsportspark.com.
