NickHolt
28th Texas Pro Sedan season set The Texas Pro Sedan Series begins its 28th consecutive season Saturday night, 4/5/03, at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle. The series features a wide variety of 4-cylinder sedans racing on short tracks throughout South Texas. Last year's TPS Champion, Ford Mustand driver Randy Lee of Corpus Christi, is expected to face some tough competition from front-runners as Randy Larsen of Wimberly in an air-cooled VW Karmann Ghia, Sergio Hexel of San Antonio in a VW Scirocco, Bill LaBarge of Bryan in a BMW, Jamie Garner of San Antonio in a VW Scirocco, Mike Knotts of Universal City in a VW Scirocco, Lalo Leal of Corpus Christi in a Ford Mustang and Tony Johnson of Schertz in a Ford Mustang. Former TPS champions Bucky Hutchinson of Austin in a VW Scirocco and Donnie Moore of Hutto in a VW Scirocco are also expected to give Lee some stiff competition. Neil Upchurch, TPS Founder and Race Director, likes the looks of the coming TPS season. "We made some rules changes during the off-season that should help even up the competition," Upchurch said. "And we know of several cars that are being built for the series." Time trial are set for 5:45 p.m. and racing takes the green flag at 7:00 p.m. For more information about the Texas Pro Sedans, visit their website at http://texasprosedans.com Nick Holt
