ABOUT ARAMENDIA MOTORSPORTS

For the past fifteen years, Joe Aramendia’s partner in racing has been his brother, John Aramendia, team president and Joe’s business manager. The Aramendia brothers have built a multimillion-dollar plumbing business in San Antonio, Texas from scratch while simultaneously developing a significant presence in the auto-racing world.

After progressing through regionally-based racing circuits in the 1990’s, Joe Aramendia came into his own in 2002 with a sixth place Total Points finish in his NASCAR All Pro debut. Joe finished first in points among rookie drivers and received the prestigious Sportsmanship Award.

In January 2003, team owner John Aramendia purchased several Busch Grand National cars from AJ Foyt Racing and Joe Aramendia began his latest move up the racing ladder.

Driving for the first time in a Busch car at the Rockingham 200, Joe qualified 25th in a field of 43 drivers – only one spot behind the top rookie qualifier. After finishing 25th at Rockingham ahead of numerous veteran Busch series drivers, Joe started in the 43rd spot at Las Vegas on a provisional due to the qualifying rainout and moved up significantly to finish 23rd. In his most recent start at the O’Reilly 300 (Texas Motor Speedway), Joe began from the 41st position on a provisional and finished in 20th place, his Busch Series career best.

ABOUT JOE ARAMENDIA

Born on April 23, 1963 in San Antonio, Texas to James and Carol Aramendia, Joe Aramendia has been married to wife Carolyn for 9 years. He has two children: Joeylynn, age 15 and Carol, age 4. Joe Aramendia is a master plumber by trade who spends a portion of his time looking after the expansion of the family plumbing business into Dallas, Texas. The demands of racing in NASCAR’s Busch Grand National Series are quickly relegating his plumbing “day job” to second place in the competition for his time.
