Diverse lineup greets Ontario race fans

 

 

 

 

 

GRAND BEND, Ontario (July 7, 2010) – After an incredibly successful event in Edmonton, Alberta to close out the month of June the Nitro Jam tour is packing up and heading back east to the shores of Grand Bend, Ontario for the sixth race of the 2010 season at the MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals July 16-18 at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

 

 

 

This season will mark the 11th anniversary of the annual Canadian festival of speed and sound as the stars of the Nitro Jam series – both new and old – return to the beautiful vacationing town for what has become a celebrated summer tradition.

 

Featuring over two dozen nitro-burning machines in three classes and a number of extras, this year’s MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals promises to be one of the biggest events ever held at the Motorplex. From 320 mile-per-hour (515 km/h) Top Fuel dragsters, to the news stars of Nitro Jam in Pro Fuel and Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car, the new Nitro Jam is all about competitive nitro racing packaged in one of the most entertaining presentations in motorsports today.

 

 

 

In addition to the trio of nitro classes the three-day event will also feature the annual Canadian Alcohol Funny Car Challenge as Ontario natives Rob Atchison and Larry Dobbs square off for the crown of Canada’s best funny car pilot. Pro Modified racing will also rejoin the Nitro Jam tour as the stars of the Ontario-based Pro Modified Racing Association show off some of the best doorslammer racing in the north.

 

Throw in the wheelstanding fire truck of Jimmy DiAngelo, two-wheeled Nitro Harley action, the Ontario debut of side-by-side jet trucks producing over 60,000 horsepower, the “Night of Fire” fireworks spectacular, Fan Fest and more and the annual MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals will take on a whole new life this season at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

 

 

 

And all of that will be in addition to three full days of sportsman racing including the brand new Harland Sharp Elite 8 Top Sportsman and Top Dragster heads-up shootout.
