Season of Drama Continues Saturday at Cowtown Speedway

by Darin Short

Kennedale, Texas (July 7, 2010) - Not historic snows, flooding rains or even a recent copper thief can keep the staff of Cowtown Speedway from their goal of providing race fans and teams the best bang for their racing buck, as the 2010 racing season continues this Saturday night.

After losing the weather battle last week when over 7” of precip fell at the track; Bo, Kay and the track workers had the facility whipped back into shape yesterday…only to have the skies unload another 2.5” inches of pouring wet stuff yesterday afternoon.

Undaunted, they went back to work and started all over again today to prepare for what is predicted to be another onslaught of heavy precip in the next 48 hours to come.

Once this next go-around concludes at some point on Friday (forecasted), track crews will assess the situation and we’ll all find out if racing will take to the high banks on Saturday night.

Be watching the track website for any change in the schedule, as within 15 minutes of updates on the night’s events will be published there.

As of now, the same racing program is in effect for July 10th with the high-powered Cowtown Modifieds, Winged Modifieds, Performance Transmissions raceTX.com Limited Modifieds, Cowtown Bombers, Winged A-Class 600’s and Winged Restricted 600’s to hit the track for hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7pm.

Gates will open at 5pm with adult ticket prices still just $12, youth (ages 6-11) $5 kids (ages 3-5) $2 and all pit passes are $25.

Advance tickets can be purchased up until 4pm on the track website at no additional charge.

Also remember that the following Saturday, July 17th, Cowtown Speedway will be hosting the first of two ASCS sprint shootout’s between the Sooner and Lone Star regions, which will certainly provide fans with thrills and high-speed action. Be watching for a separate announcement for the event early next week.

Hopefully this Saturday night, we’ll be able to put our raincoats and umbrellas away long enough to enjoy another night of family-affordable, side-by-side racing action at the Fastest Lil’ Dirt Track in Texas – Cowtown Speedway – as the wild and wacky 2010 racing season continues!
