HiTech I was made manager of a grocery store years ago over by UT I wrote a work schdule of hours to be worked and almost all quit and went on strike and walked a picket line well all the owners and some from other stores came to fill in. One checker stayed and she went to lunch and went out and carried a picket sign and came back in and said wheres my time card? I said you're fired she said but I needed this job I said you can't have it both ways! We had a time finding people to work!

Fantastic, Thanks for sharing. He is one of our favorites. He used to play the Broken Spoke and we got a group together and got table up front by the bandstand. Wonderful true American. That song should be played all the time on the radio.

So if someone like me (who incidentally firmly believes the USA is the best thing going hands down - because we CAN speak out without getting hanged, stoned, caned or imprisoned) chooses to speak out when I see something I believe is wrong I am a jackass? Glad to know this - Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, George Washington - all jackasses because they stood up and spoke out against imperial governement. Abe Lincoln, JFK, Ronald Reagan - all jackasses because they refused to leave it and BECAUSE they loved it instituted acceptable changes. Every citizen who chooses to cast a vote - jackass.

Proud to be a jackass. brreee-haw.

How many Germans were silent and waving their little flags and saying "Germany - love it or leave it?" In all the footage I have seen of Hitlers speeches there were quite a few of em. Without voicing "what's wrong" how will anyone know what needs fixed?

"It's your race car - love it or leave it - quit complaining about the push - I don't want to hear it - shut up and drive." has never been the standard of any winning crew chief! Personaly I would rather hear "America - speak up or leave it" - the people can not govern if they do not voice their opinions. Once the opinions are silent - its no longer the people governing - but rather BEING governed. THATS what makes America great!

And to get back to the original topic - NASA is an administration of the federal US government whose primary mission is to advance scientific knowledge of aerospace and space travel. How can I as a proud american happily watch it be used for SOCIAL engineering instead of scientific? If this is not an obvious abuse of power by SOMEBODY (I won't target anyone lets just leave it open) then what is it? Besides dangerous - as the director said he has been charged with "enlightening the Muslim world". Maybe I agree with that. After all we can't have shoe bombers afraid of space ships or their interests won't be well represented in the space travel frontier.

Just more of "The Messiah's" global apology tour....What a jerk(sorry John)...LOL

There'a an AC/DC song that epitomizes the direction our country is headed under this current adminstration...."Highway to Hell"

Where's all those Obama/Biden decals that adorned so many cars last year?

Tom I saw one here in Kerrpatch....I pulled up along side him at a red light....Some young preppy looking guy, probably never worked A HARD DAY in his life.....I asked/yelled at him...."How do you like your change now"....He ignored me.....So I let him know he was #1 and drove off.....

......and how about this new guy just placed in charge of Medicare/Medicaid(without congressional vetting I might add)....Truely belives in redistribution of wealth and "selective" health care procedures......Sounds a lot like rationing to me....

SOMEONE, back near the election, suggested on here we were headed down the path to Socialism......Hmmmm, now who was that.....That person caught quite a bit of flack for his comments....

The 'progressives' think we're too stupid to know what's good for us or the ability to evaluate our current situation and the main stream media is planted so far up thier collective arses they can't even get stories straight....

Case in point....Was watching the local SA news(won't say which one) just to get the weather/radar update....They stated how well our economy has turned around and everything was rosy(not rosie---lol).....Yet the Wall Street Journal reports.....retail sales are down, housing sales down/forclosures up, and the economic results of the gulf oil spill are devestating.....Now to me, a stupid non-progressive, that doesn't sound very rosy to me....

And I REALLY love the geniuses blaming the oil spill on Bush......and they think we're the stupid ones....

OK....I've had my rant for the day and feel much better now...THANK YOU!!!

You did good Reb. If I was to post how I feel about all that Nick would kick me off the short bus into oncoming traffic. By the way...I think all this rain is part of a conspiracy to shut down all the dirt tracks.

November is our chance to speak and be heard. No incumbents should be re-elected regardless of party.

I just saw a letter from Social Security stating that EVERY person recieveng government checks are going to get a $250 bonus for doing nothing. This bonus money comes automatic to all SS benificiaries, government pensioners etc.Attached was a paragraph stating this is comming from Obama through his stimulus plan. You dont have to report it as income. No wonder the depesit is so great. Our president is giving Christmas bonusses to every government dependent in America and elswhere. My wife did not get a $250 bonus from John Deere.Remember too this includes all people getting Social Security income checks for living expenses, most of whom dont pay any taxes, are not disabled or retired. This part of Texas definately supports socialism,we produce nothing but the standard of living rivals anywhere.Who says theres no such thing as a free lunch????At least Obama is rewarding everyone for using the social network.

Any question why the borders cant be controlled.Who doesnt want the free American life.

Actually the 250 in the stimulus package was put there as an emergency consession because congress was too late to get the gov recipients cost of living raise into effect (the CoL raises are not automatic and have to be legislated each year separately). And SS recipients went 6 years without a raise under Bush. So basically its just a cash payment to make up for the lack of the raise(s). Without the CoL raises you too could expect to retire with an average of 163.00 per month (the payments amount as originally set up in the Social Security Act)!

From Nov 13th to well into tax season my offices were innundated with calls from people (and I refuse to ethnically id them) wanting to know when they were going to get the 1000.00 "rebate" for voting for Obama. THAT implication was done on the heels of the Bush admin's "rebate" (or more accurately and confusing advance credit payment) and in my opinion intentionally to mislead the ignorant into voting for him. The 250 really was to make up for not getting the CoL into place before congress went out of session (and was a republican initiative). It won't be there next year as the raise is already legislated.

But that really is funny!

I get a check each month from SS. I hope Im not considered a "Low life".

Yeah, PAPA, you and I are just worthless scum bags.

I worked for 50 years (age 16 through the age 66) and put a chunk of every paycheck into the SS system, so I honestly don't feel like I'm sponging off society when I cash my whopping $1,003 monthly Social Security retirement check. Oh wait, I don't actually get all the $1,003 because they take out a couple hundred a month for my Medicare premium and take another $136 for my Supplemental Health Insurance since Medicare only covers certain things. And, of course, I get to pay income taxes on the full $1003 even though it was tax money that I had paid into the system in the first place!

People getting Social Security retirement benefits are not ripping off the rest. They are getting screwed right along with everyone else. I paid far more into the system than I'll ever get back -- especially if you stop to consider that the dollars I put in back in the '60s, '70s and '80s were worth far more than they are worth these days. Can you support a family on about $700 a month? Of course you can't. That's why most of us old farts will be working right up until the day we die.

And, oh yeah, I get free hearing aids from the VA too since my hearing got blasted in the US Air Force. That must make me a double-low low life.

When I started into estate planning, and wealth retention as my area of specialised practice it became obvious real fast that that "rich world" was quite different than mine. Thomas J Stanley is a great author and source for understanding how to model wealth retention (and gain insight into how the wealthy think). And reading between the lines it becomes quite apparent that the "rich world" is far less personally rewarding than ours.

that doctor probably had a very shallow life and (although many aquantences) very few real meaningful friends (or maybe even the best friends money can buy). that is most likely the cause of his lashing out.

But any way - you can always tell us low lifes - you'll generally find us in a pit somewhere.
