On Wednesday, Racemart presents the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring Musco USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, Carter’s Manufacturing USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks. Pits open at 5 p.m., grandstands open at 5:30, hot laps begin at 7:15 and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. On Thursday, MARS invades the Southern Iowa Speedway as the stars and cars of the MARS DIRTcar Series are bringing a field loaded with the nation’s top late model drivers for a $3,000-to-win slobber-knocker at the historic Mahaska County Monster. Drivers expected to be in attendance include five-time and defending MARS champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, Mo.; Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb.; 2009 MARS Rookie of the Year and current points leader Eric Turner of Hermitage, Mo.; 2007 MARS Rookie of the Year and USMTS Modified racer Jeremy Payne of Springfield, Mo.; plus Hawkeye State speedsters Dave and Denny Eckrich, Chris Spieker, John Anderson, Bryant Goldsmith and more! Witness all the slide-ways action as the Martian’s of the MARS DIRTcar Series invade the Southern Iowa Speedway for the first time ever in its 11-year history.
