PASS South will Sizzle Orange County Saturday

NAPLES ME (6/22) Summer has arrived, school is out and that means it’s time for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South super late models to head for the North Carolina/Virginia line to Rougemont North Carolinas’ beautiful Orange County Speedway on Saturday June 26th.

The Summer Sizzler will feature 150 green flag laps of super late model thunder delivered by the South’s fastest short track stars and full fender cars. There are several drivers that are on a roll and a bunch more that are looking to carry their first Sunoco checkered flag of the season.

Andy Loden has to be considered one of the favorites; he’s notched two wins in a row and he will no doubt go all out to score the hat trick, just up the road a piece from the home of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes.

Preston Peltier has to be a co- favorite; he’s got the points lead over Ryan Blaney (1304-1258) and he has already visited victory lane at the OC in 2010. Blaney is hoping to gain ground on Peltier and he has the talent and the team to do it. He has a win and five top tens in the first six PASS South races but his win came in the season opener back in the spring. He’s always strong but he needs to outrun Peltier and Loden to gain ground in the championship chase.

Justin Wakefield has a Wake County win in the books to go with a few mechanical failures and some horrible racing luck throughout the first half of the season. Wakefield will look to turn 2010 around at the Sizzler and pull himself up from seventh in the championship standings.

There’s a lot of talent still looking for their first 2010 visit to victory lane. Jay Fogleman, Heath Hindman, Devin Jones, John Batten, Steve Legendre and Trey Mitchell have all been consistent enough to sit in the top ten in the PASS South standings, but they have yet to carry home that winner’s trophy.

Summer Sizzler pre entries have been received from Maine and Vermont to Florida and Kansas. Be sure to visit www.proallstarsseries.com for the complete entry list and watch for updates as race day approaches.

Practice kicks off at 1:00 PM Saturday June 26th , Time trials get underway at 5:00 PM and the first feature will get the green at 7:00 PM. There’s Legends, Bandoleros, Allison Legacy racers and Orange County’s own Limited Late Models on the five division card, a night of racing that’s guaranteed to satisfy even the most hard core fan.

The complete schedule of events can be found at www.proallstarsseries.com. Orange County Speedway is on line at www.ocstrack.com.
