Dart Iron Man Challenge motors into Fort Dodge Tuesday

FORT DODGE, Iowa (June 21) – The Dart Iron Man Challenge invades the Mineral City Speedway in Fort Dodge, Iowa, for the fourth round of action for the newly-formed series for full-fendered USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars this Tuesday, June 22.

In all, 14 dates at 12 premier speedways throughout Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri dot the calendar for the 2010 campaign as the ultra-competitive and exciting USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars will accompany the popular USMTS Modifieds at each of the events.

Made possible by support from Dart Machinery and Allstar Performance, all races will pay $600 to win and $125 to start the main event with 21 or more entries in the field. The ten-race points fund will carry a $1,000 top prize with the tenth-place finisher earning $100.

Dart will award a $75 certificate to the winner of each event and a $50 certificate to the ninth-place finisher, and each event will have a qualifying format similar to the USMTS, with heat race passing points determining the “B” Main and “A” Main line-ups.

In addition, each race will award national points in the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car division of the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series where the national champion will earn $700.

On Tuesday, pit and grandstand gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. Along with the USMTS Modifieds and USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, rounding out the evening’s racing card will be local Hobby Stocks.

NASCAR veteran driver and SPEED Channel broadcaster Kenny Wallace will be in attendance to sign autographs for the fans prior to strapping on his own helmet and competing against the USMTS Modifieds.

Tuesday’s blockbuster event is also one of 25 “must see” Iowa Lottery Silver Cash Stop events. Bring your ticket in the Lottery’s “The Silver Ticket” game to the races and you could win up to $1,000 in cash prizes.

On race day, fans can pick up $2-off coupons at all Casey’s General Store locations in Fort Dodge. For more information or to find the location nearest you, check out www.caseys.com.

The Mineral City Speedway is a 1/2-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 0.9 mile north of US 20 on US 169, then 0.5 mile east on 230th. For more information call the track office at 515-573-8745 or 515-574-7223 on race day, or visit www.fdspeed.com online.
