rebelracewriter
Brooklyn Raceway "The Figure Eight Capital of the World" As the hot drying sun started to set Sat. night at the Brooklyn Raceway the crowd started pouring through the front gate like water into a funnel. The track caretakers said the sun and wind kept trying to dry the track out. They dumped 24,000 gallons of water on the track to keep the dust down. It was a little slippery for hot-laps and some of the heats but time the Mains came around the track was almost perfect. 85 race teams from 3 states gave the crowd what they wanted to see, which was some of the top outlaw Open Class Figure 8 cars racing for points in the "Extreme Dirt Racing Series." It proved to be a fast night on the oval track as well. The Front Wheel drives had very tight racing all night. Next the crazy two Man Cruisers just seem to amaze the crowd each week with the speed they are racing. The Legend cars were back at Brooklyn this week with some of the most position changes in their main as anytime ever.
