NickHolt
Casey Smith Launches New Website as he gets back to Racing after Long Hiatus Austin, Texas (5/24/10) - The beginning of the 2010 season has been a slow process for Casey Smith; not necessarily due to the Texas driver’s doing but more so on the timing of the 2010 Gulf Coast Championship schedule. After racing round one of the five round mini series on April 9th and 10th, Casey will finally get back behind the wheel of his #99 Rapid Disposal super late model this weekend for a doubleheader weekend of racing at Five Flags Speedway and Mobile Int’l Speedway. “Every year it seems like at the beginning of the season it’s a real slow start, scheduling wise for us. Once we get the first Gulf Coast series race in, it’s almost two months before we race again and as a race car driver its frustrating because all you want to do is race,” stated Smith. “The good thing about this year is that we’ve started off pretty good with top fives in all three of the races we’ve ran. I’d much rather be sitting around knowing we are third in points with a car that is more than capable of winning, than being in the back of the points standings wondering what we have to do to make our car better.” In addition to preparing for his return to racing Smith is proud to launch his new Casey Smith Racing website, (www.caseysmithracing.com). The new site, in addition to having all the latest news and information on the Casey Smith Racing team, features Casey’s sharp looking #99 red and black Rapid Disposal/Smith Paving Chevy Impala SS which has become a fan favorite to Casey Smith fans everywhere. “The new site design reflects the new look we gave our team this year which I know a lot of the fans have mentioned to me they like the new look after seeing us race plain black cars for the last couple of years. I really like the way the site came out, its easy to navigate, has plenty of eye appeal, and above all its always up to date which to me is important because what’s the point in having a website if its not current with what you are doing in racing,” added Casey. “Besides I’m hoping the new look will bring us some luck this year and we can get back to winning some races.” Round two of the Gulf Coast series kicks off May 28th at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida followed by another 100 lap event the following Saturday night, May 29th at Mobile, Alabama’s Mobile Int’l Speedway. In addition to seeking race wins that weekend, Casey will look to take home the $1,000 bonus for the driver who has the best average finish between the weekend’s two races. Smith is well aware that if he can happen to win that award each round, the points will fall to his favor.
